After years of development, the mainland sprinkler truck has become an indispensable operating vehicle in China's urban environmental greening. With the rapid development of the economy, people's requirements for the environment are getting higher and higher, and the requirements for sprinkler trucks are also getting higher and higher. In 2023, a total of 5,623 sprinkler trucks will be sold, a decrease of 1,919 units compared with the same period in 2022, a year-on-year decrease of 25.44%.
In terms of monthly sales, sales in February increased by 15.4% year-on-year, quite a market recovery; sales soared in March, rising to the peak of annual sales, and also achieved a slight year-on-year increase; since April, sales have declined significantly, down 16.16% month-on-month. From April to December, sales continued to decline, showing a year-on-year decline of 9 consecutive years, and in the end, only 311 units were sold in December, a sharp decrease of 32.54% year-on-year. It can be seen that in the context of the decline in sales of sanitation vehicles, the sales of sprinkler trucks as a subdivision model are not optimistic, and the market recovery still needs policy support and promotion.
According to the sales data of sprinkler manufacturers, a total of 114 special vehicle companies will achieve sales in 2023, an increase of 8 compared with 2022. However, in 2022, when the sales of Hubei Chengli and Hubei Kaili will exceed 1,000, no company will sell more than 1,000 vehicles in 2023, which shows the fierce competition in the market. Specifically, Hubei Kaili, Zoomlion Environment and Chengli Special Automobile will rank among the top three in the sales list in 2023 with sales of 933, 799 and 665 respectively. From 2022 to 2023, these three companies have always occupied the "throne" of the top three annual sales of sprinkler trucks, continuing their leading edge in the field of sprinkler manufacturing. However, it is worth mentioning that the sales volume of the top three companies in 2023 will decline to varying degrees compared with the same period in 2022.
Among the top enterprises, the total market share of the top 5 enterprises in the annual sales list was 60.47%, a year-on-year decrease of 3.48 percentage points, and the market concentration decreased slightly. In addition, Dongfeng Motor and Yutong Heavy Industry have become the "dark horses" of this year: Dongfeng Motor's sales soared from 190 to 288, a strong year-on-year increase of 51.58%, while Yutong Heavy Industry's sales have nearly tripled, ranking among the top 10 with 243 vehicles, and their strong growth has injected new vitality into the market.
From the perspective of different fuel types of sprinkler trucks, traditional energy still accounts for the mainstream, accounting for 98.82%. In 2023, the sales volume of new energy sprinkler trucks will be 66 units, an increase of 9 units over the sales volume in 2022, of which the sales volume of pure electric sprinkler trucks will be 63 units, an increase of 13 units over the sales volume in 2022. Although today's new energy sprinkler trucks have just started and the sales base is small, the market potential of new energy sprinkler trucks cannot be underestimated.
In December 2022, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) issued the "Implementation Plan for the 14th Five-Year Plan for Expanding Domestic Demand", proposing to accelerate the electrification of public and official vehicles such as urban public transportation, taxis, logistics, and sanitation. As a public domain vehicle, sanitation vehicles are gradually promoting new energy under the guidance of policies. As an important subdivision of sanitation vehicles, new energy sprinkler trucks will be the future development trend.
