A few days ago, the exhibition of Xue Zhiyun's freehand flower and bird paintings and the launch ceremony of the new book "Chinese Modern and Contemporary Famous Painters - Xue Zhiyun" was held at the Renmei Art Museum in Beijing.
At the launch ceremony of the new book, Ren Qiliang, Chairman of the China Chinese Education Foundation and former Deputy Director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, Guo Rui, former Director of the Information Bureau of the General Office of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Wang Yuan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the People's Fine Arts Publishing House, and Yang Hongjun, Chairman of the County Political Consultative Conference, jointly unveiled the new book "Collection of Chinese Modern and Contemporary Masters - Xue Zhiyun".
Hu Yongle, member of the Standing Committee of the county party committee and executive deputy county magistrate, said in his speech that Xue Zhiyun is a representative of outstanding painters from Xiao County, and he has played an irreplaceable role in the development of calligraphy and painting and the construction of talents in our county. As a practitioner of Chinese freehand flower and bird painting, he not only brought the influence of calligraphy and painting in our county to the Huanghuai River Basin, but also went to the whole country, forming a new model for the development of freehand painting in Xiao County.
"Collection of Chinese Modern and Contemporary Masterpieces - Xue Zhiyun" took nine years to compile, including nearly 200 works by Mr. Xue Zhiyun, as well as comments by Liu Kaiqu, Shao Dazhen and Xue Yongnian.

At the same time as the new book, there is also "Selfless Me - Xue Zhiyun's Freehand Flower and Bird Painting Exhibition", which exhibits a total of 55 Xue Zhiyun's representative freehand flower and bird paintings.
Xue Zhiyun is good at using simple lines and hearty brushwork, and his pursuit and innovation of modern aesthetics make his works not only have the core of traditional connotation, but also present modern aesthetic forms, profoundly interpreting the freehand spirit of Chinese painting.
Since the exhibition opened on April 16, there has been an endless stream of visitors, who have spoken highly of Xue Zhiyun's freehand paintings of flowers and birds.
At the symposium, art theorists and artists from Beijing, Anhui and other places conducted in-depth discussions on Xue Zhiyun's artistic achievements, the characteristics and educational models of Chinese freehand flower and bird painting, and other issues.
