It's not because of how many stories I have in the past five years, it's just because there are too many people to thank you. Suddenly, I summed it up seriously, and I didn't have a clue for a while. It just so happened that my father had just made two phone calls and asked me: Is it settled?

When I was a child, when I looked like a harmless child, my father envisioned my beautiful future: what would this child be born and what would he become? In fact, it would be good to be a bandit leader......
I've had a bad temper since I was a kid.
Of course, I was famous in the village when I was a child, because of my "mischief", no parent wanted to see me. So when I was admitted to university, I often went with my family to the old folks who were gathering together to cool off at night, and "kindly" asked, "Well, who in your family is studying?" because I know that none of them are in school. But in retrospect, it didn't make the right conversation.
I've always loved to show off since I was a kid.
I can't remember what year it was, but it seems that I just finished the college entrance examination, and I made an appointment with the same table in elementary school that I hadn't seen for many years. At that time, I didn't have a mobile phone, and my family was worried that they wouldn't be able to contact me, so they gave me my mother's elderly phone and said that I could call if I had something. When chatting with my classmates, someone called, I saw that everyone was a smart phone, embarrassed to take out the old machine, so I had to run out and connect the phone, opposite: Hello, do you need to handle it......
I've been dying to save face since I was a child.
Because of these character flaws, I have suffered a lot, but it is still difficult to get rid of them. Since you can't change it, then use it! There are very few illiterate people in contemporary China, but there are still too many American illiterates
There was an exam soon after the start of the university year, and I wasn't nervous at all. Because it was a sketching exam, and I showed a good talent for drawing since I was a child, and I also studied sketching for a while. But the results were unsatisfactory and the scores were low. In a later class, Mr. Han inadvertently mentioned that our topic is to draw an apple, which draws several petals of apples......
Teacher Han, I didn't expect it, that person is the student me.
Mr. Han was one of the most important teachers to me during my college years. He is very gentle and takes care of every student. I have also had a lot of exchanges with Mr. Han, but his serious attitude and professional artistic atmosphere always make me daunting, and I don't dare to take the initiative to contact him in reality.
Mr. Han is an out-and-out angry youth, but his "radical" words can always reflect different interpretations and unique insights on the hot and cold state of the world. Mr. Han mainly taught us hand-painting in school, and he said more than once: If you can insist on drawing a sketch every day, you will definitely be admitted to the old eighth school. Every time he finished speaking, most of the students just smiled.
But I want to try.
On September 27, 2017, I came into contact with pen sketching for the first time, and also left the first pen sketch copied:
I know myself so well that it's definitely hard for me to stick to one sketch a day. Therefore, I decided to make a generous declaration in the circle of friends: I want to insist on one sketch a day, and check in the circle of friends every day! I know myself too well, for the sake of face, in order to achieve the boast of the bull, I will more or less insist on it for a month. But I still don't know myself well enough, and I'm so desperate to save face that I insisted on it for nearly 4 years.
Unexpectedly, the hand-painting, which was originally the basic skill of architects, has now become a capital that can be used to brag about. It must be admitted that hand-drawing has almost disappeared in the architectural circle, and those students who go to learn hand-drawing are just to cope with the quick exam. But for me, hand-drawing is not that simple. It is definitely not just a way of expression, it is more to improve my aesthetic ability, expand my perception of beauty, which is an inner improvement that can not be found. Teacher Han said: There are very few illiterates in contemporary China, but there are still too many American illiterates.
"Never miss an opportunity to show off"
Mr. Yu is another of the most important teachers to me in college, and he is also the enlightening teacher of my architectural cognition. Teacher Yu is always "hanging" on the surface, but he can always inadvertently reveal a lot of classic quotes:

Teacher Yu is like this, he can always learn a lot of knowledge in the witty and relaxed class, and because of this, Teacher Yu will always have a large group of loyal fans, and I am one of them. But I didn't believe that from the beginning. I once had a big quarrel with Teacher Yu because of a misunderstanding, and even hung up several phone calls from Teacher Yu one after another. But in the end, I realized my mistakes and impulses, and I am glad that the teacher understood and forgave me.
It was a wooden construction competition, and there would be an explanation session after the construction was completed, and Teacher Yu joked: Don't be a docent, don't say the wrong thing impulsively. I know myself too well, and I say: I know, I know. But I still don't know myself well enough, and in the process of building, I actually quarreled with the "gold owner's father" of the competition, and he asked me very unconfidently: Are you a teacher?

In the end, with the help of a group of students and teachers, the competition won the third prize, and won a series of certificates and honorary titles. It was also this time that I saw another outstanding way to sketch in addition to "posting" sketches every day. I know myself so well that I never miss an opportunity to show off. But I still didn't know myself well enough, and I would never have thought about the impact and convenience it would bring to me in the future. After that, I didn't miss a chance to participate in every contest I knew. Gradually, I also won a little honor:

I feel that the first time I really learned about architecture came from Mr. Yu's design class conducted online during the epidemic. Mr. Yu's first class was to read Cobb's "Towards a New Architecture", and then he kept repeating a sentence in the book: architecture is a matching mass, a smart, correct and brilliant performance under the sun. It is also because of the teacher's modern architectural thinking class that my understanding of architecture has been further refined. It was also in this class that Teacher Yu frequently said:
"Beauty lies in the logical unity of (proportion) and the rich relationship of (proportion) layers"
"When you really learn this design method, that's when you forget it"
"The biggest characteristic of senior architecture students is that they can open their eyes and talk nonsense, but he doesn't dare to talk in the lower grades."
Indeed, architecture students always have their own temper and always uphold their own attitude. But I think that all the people who are noble in front of them must be supported by the efforts of others to suffer later. People who blindly believe in luck and talent, or easily blame other people's achievements on luck and talent, are frivolous and impetuous.
"Quick questions are not design, practice makes perfect"
Hand painting and professional are thanks to the teaching of two teachers, and the graduate school entrance examination has to benefit from the help of many people: the teaching of seniors, the mutual help of fellow students, and the understanding and silent support of family members! As far as personal postgraduate experience is concerned, because English is too poor, more than 3/5 of the time is spent on English, and the time allocation is more extreme, and the reference value is minimal.
And I am different from most of my classmates who are going to graduate school, my academic performance is not excellent, only my professional results are passable, but I have many competitions. Therefore, I participated in the summer camp of Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology (Cuiying Program) and successfully passed with nearly 20 competition awards and honors. This gave me the advantage of being exempt from the re-examination and the opportunity to choose the best group of tutors (every one of them is excellent) (the best group of teachers at Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology almost only recruit push-exempt students and Cuiying students).
For the four subjects in the graduate school entrance examination, I think the quick questions are relatively tricky. I would like to express my personal opinion: quick questions are not design, practice makes perfect, and "take-it-or-leave-it". Architects are often looking forward to working on each set of quick questions to their heart's content, and each time they make a very different design. Once upon a time, I thought so, too:
I even lost my temper with my senior and tore up the question in front of him, and he didn't argue with me, but indulged me and let me continue to draw according to my own ideas. I know myself so well that I think I can do whatever I want with my hand-drawing and design.
But I still don't know myself well enough, as the more and more quick questions are drawn, the gap between myself and others is getting bigger and bigger, and the speed can't be improved, I began to gradually realize that the quick questions are a test-taking exam after all, and you only need to "carry" the quick questions that you usually practice and modify them slightly. The quick question examines the basic requirements and basic aesthetics of architecture. After that, I started to practice a few shapes deliberately, just with some local modifications: "Snake"

Not surprisingly, the score of the quick test in the first exam was not bad. Later, the advantages of hand-drawing and competition were also revealed. Because the drawings of my previous work are already relatively detailed, I don't need to make any changes. So after the first audition, I was able to complete a portfolio in just one night, complete with a large number of award certificates and hand-drawn artwork. After the results of the preliminary examination were announced, I submitted my portfolio to the three best tutors. Although my results in the initial examination were not outstanding, I finally received the willingness of Professor Li Hao and Professor Liu Kecheng to accept it.
Finally, I realized what Mr. Han said: as long as I insist on one sketch a day, I can be admitted to the old eighth school......
