On June 22, 2014, China's Grand Canal was inscribed on the World Heritage List.
After eight years of inscription, China's Grand Canal has realized its dream of becoming a World Heritage Site. Wucheng is connected to Jianghuai, and Hangou is connected to the world. Yangzhou's 2,500-year-old splendid origin is here, and Yangzhou is the origin of the Grand Canal.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the successful inscription of the Grand Canal of China on the World Heritage List, and in order to commemorate this historic moment, Yangzhou photography volunteers held the activity of "Yangzhou People's Walk to Photograph the Grand Canal".
On April 8, 14 photographers from Yangzhou set off from the ancient city to different locations along the Grand Canal to photograph the Millennium and Thousand Miles of the Grand Canal at the same time. On the evening of April 18, with the last group of photography volunteers arriving home safely, it took 11 days for all volunteers to complete the scheduled shooting tasks.
On the afternoon of April 20th, the colorful flags of the Yangzhou Cultural Center fluttered, and the electronic screen of "Warmly Welcome the Triumphant Return of the Volunteers of the Thousand Miles of the Grand Canal" was shining, and the leaders of the Cultural Center, Cai Jasmine, Gao Rong, Yang Dong and all the members and dozens of citizen representatives gathered in front of the square of the Cultural Center Building, waiting for the victorious return of the king of the Thousand Miles of the Grand Canal. With the slow entry of 6 windmills, the entrance ceremony of the 6-way shooting team that greeted the dust kicked off...
After the volunteers entered the square of the cultural center, Ji Li, the representative of the volunteers, first donated the pictures and video materials taken by the volunteers in the Grand Canal to Cai Jasmine, the representative director of the Municipal Cultural Center, and the leaders of the Municipal Cultural Center awarded honorary certificates to the 14 volunteers of the photography group. Finally, Cai Jasmine, director of the Municipal Cultural Center, announced the successful conclusion of the activity of "Yangzhou People's Photography of the Grand Canal".
14 volunteers traveled 13,480 kilometers, took 44,318 pictures and 782 video materials, providing extremely valuable materials for promoting the culture of the Grand Canal.
The Yangzhou photography volunteers held the "Yangzhou people to take a thousand miles of the Grand Canal" activity, they will promote the protection of the Grand Canal, a valuable world cultural heritage as their mission and responsibility, 14 photography volunteers self-driving thousands of miles to carry out the "Yangzhou people to take a thousand miles of the Grand Canal" activity, aimed at helping to publicize, protect the culture of the Grand Canal, in order to arouse more people to raise the awareness of the protection of the Grand Canal, through this collection of the Grand Canal basin, with the pictures, The video shows the style of the Grand Canal in front of the world as much as possible, so that more people can devote themselves to the promotion and protection of the canal.
This time, Yangzhou photography volunteers photographed the Grand Canal of China in three parts, namely: the Sui-Tang Grand Canal, the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, and the Zhedong Canal. With a total length of more than 2,700 kilometers, it flows through the current six provinces and two municipalities directly under the central government, and runs through the five major water systems of the Haihe River, the Yellow River, the Huai River, the Yangtze River and the Qiantang River. The volunteers divided the 2,700-kilometer Grand Canal into Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei groups, Henan, Anhui Province, Shandong Province, Jiangsu North Group, Jiangsu Southern Jiangsu Group, and Zhejiang Group.
The filming of "Yangzhou People's Photography of the Grand Canal" in the whole basin of the Grand Canal is a beneficial attempt by Yangzhou photography volunteers to publicize and protect the Grand Canal with their own practical actions.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Grand Canal's successful application for World Cultural Heritage, and each volunteer photographer who participated in the Grand Canal regarded it as his or her mission to record the style of the Millennium Canal, take pictures of the scenery along the canal, and take photos of the development of the canal. Relying on their own photographic equipment and their own expertise, they contribute to the inheritance, protection and utilization of the Millennium Canal.
The organizer of the event, Ji Li, said that Yangzhou City was born because of the Grand Canal, is the origin of the Grand Canal, the Grand Canal has accompanied the people of Yangzhou through 2,500 years of ups and downs, the Grand Canal for the people on both sides of the strait to live endlessly, silently dedicated to the millennium, now, we are facing the task of publicizing and protecting the Grand Canal, therefore, as the origin of the Grand Canal City photography volunteers, we have the responsibility and necessity to carry out activities to photograph the Grand Canal for thousands of miles, and show the true face of the Millennium Grand Canal in front of the world. With regard to this matter that is conducive to the protection of the Grand Canal, who will take the lead if we Yangzhou people do not take the lead in filming? Who will take the lead if Yangzhou people do not take the lead? We are the vanguard in publicizing and protecting the culture of the Grand Canal.
The volunteers who participated in the activity of "Yangzhou People's Walk to Photograph the Grand Canal for a Thousand Miles" are: Ji Li, Yu Yaping, Ji Jie, Xu Yongqing, Zhang Guoping, Zhang Yaosheng, Yuan Heping, Huang Hanlin, Lu Minghua, Shi Yu, Ju Zhenxiang, Yan Chunfei, Xu Changjun, Jiang Shimei, a total of 14 people.
The activity of "Yangzhou People's Photography of the Grand Canal for a Thousand Miles" is a public welfare activity carried out spontaneously by photography volunteers to publicize and protect the Grand Canal, and the whole activity is carried out in the form of volunteering, self-driving and self-paying, and is carried out in the form of multiple groups dispatching and completing the photography task in stages.
