On April 21st, C Visual Image Database, provincial, municipal and county photographers associations and provincial news photography societies cooperated to build and share image creation and image creation exchange and sharing activities in Chengdu. At the event, the award-winning works of the six tracks of the first "Discover New Tianfu" Global Image Competition were officially released, and a total of 256 works won the Image Award.
The "Discover New Tianfu" Global Image Contest was jointly launched by C Visual Image Database, Sichuan Provincial Department of Transportation, Sichuan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Sichuan Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, Sichuan Provincial Fire and Rescue Corps, and State Grid Sichuan Electric Power Company. The competition adheres to the core concept of "recording, exploring, and sharing", and focuses on Sichuan Province's development strategy of promoting "synchronization of the four modernizations, integration of urban and rural areas, and co-prosperity of the five districts", and invites photographers from all over the world to focus on the "land of abundance", freeze the colorful natural features and cultural landscapes of the land of Bashu, record the spirit of the sons and daughters of Bashu, and show the magnificent picture of "New Tianfu in the New Era" governing Shu and Xingchuan with images as the carrier.
The competition set up six thematic tracks: "Tianfu New Life", "The Change of Shu Road", "Tianfu Granary", "Labor Building Dreams", "Light and Shadow Fire Protection" and "Electric Lighting Sichuan", with a total prize of more than 200,000 yuan. Since the global call for submissions was launched on April 23, 2023, the organizers have received more than 50,000 submissions from photographers from all over the world. During the competition, C Visual Image Database opened a "Weekly List Recommendation" column in Chuanguan News to display the top 3 lists of the best works in each creative unit every week.
After the preliminary evaluation and final evaluation, the judging committee of the competition selects outstanding works according to news value, artistic aesthetics, documentary dimension, etc., and evaluates the first prize, second prize, third prize and excellence award of each thematic track.
