Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Slovenia Tanya Fayon paid an official visit to China
At the invitation of Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Tanja Fajon, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, paid an official visit to China from April 17 to 21, during which the two sides will exchange views on China-Slovenia relations, cooperation in various fields, multilateral coordination, and international and regional issues of common concern.
At the Beijing talks on April 17, Wang Yi said that after more than 30 years of development, China-Sri Lanka relations have entered a stage of stability and maturity, and although the two countries have different social systems and cultural backgrounds, they understand each other, respect and appreciate each other, and the two peoples have friendly feelings. China appreciates the Sri Lankan government's understanding and support for China's core interests and its firm adherence to the one-China principle. China supports Slovenia's national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and respects Slovenia's development path suited to its national conditions. China congratulates Sri Lanka on its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2024-2025 term, and stands ready to strengthen cooperation with Sri Lanka in the UN Security Council and other international institutions to promote a more just and equitable development of global governance.
Minister Fayong said that the Sri Lankan and Chinese people have a deep friendship and strong mutual trust. Sri Lanka attaches great importance to its relations with China and firmly pursues the one-China policy. Sri Lanka has sent the largest economic and trade delegation in history to visit China, and is willing to further deepen practical cooperation with China in the fields of economy, trade, tourism, and scientific and technological innovation. The Slovenian Tourism Board will hold the 2024 Tourism Promotion Conference in Beijing and Shanghai
Minister Fayong was accompanied by an economic and trade delegation of more than 60 Slovenian business representatives and members of the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Slovenia sees potential for further cooperation in the fields of tourism, health care, information technology, logistics, energy, automotive, engineering, consulting, wine and consumer goods.
Ms. Saša Verovšek Musič, Senior Manager of the Slovenian Tourism Board, Ms. Ana Zupan, Project Manager, and representatives of several Slovenian tourism companies and destinations also accompanied the delegation. Their goal is to showcase the rich and colorful tourism resources of this Central European country to the majority of Chinese tourists, deepen cooperation with the Chinese tourism industry, and attract more tourists to Slovenia for sightseeing and vacation.
As part of the trip to China, on April 17, the Slovenian Tourist Board joined forces with Intercontinental Hotel Ljubljana, KNMtravel, Sava Group, Tourism Bled, Ljubljana Tourism), Brda Tourism, Happy Tours, Adventure Slovenia, Postojnska jama d.d., Eupro Travel, Visdom Agency, and Turkish Airlines Airlines), which successfully held the 2024 Slovenia Tourism Promotion Conference in Beijing. The Slovenian Tourism Promotion Conference held today (April 19) in Shanghai will provide more opportunities for the establishment of cooperation between the Chinese and Slovenian tourism industries.

The China Tourism Academy had a discussion with representatives of the Slovenian Tourism Board and travel agents
On April 18, Dai Bin, President of China Tourism Academy, met with representatives of the Slovenian Tourism Board and Slovenian travel agents in Beijing.
Dai Bin welcomed the visit of the Slovenian tourism delegation. He shared the overall situation of China's inbound and outbound tourism, the two-way tourism situation between China and Europe and China and Sri Lanka, the development trend of China's tourism industry and suggestions for Sri Lanka.
