As the last pure fuel model, the G87 M2 has the same M3/M4 powertrain and a more compact body, which is enough to make it the best M pwoer model in Bimmer's mind.
Because of this, the G87 M2 has also become the "darling" of major modified license plates, and brands such as Vorsteiner, AC Schnitzer, and Manhartr have launched modified and enhanced prototypes for the new M2.
In particular, Manhartr took the power straight ahead, introducing the 560 hp and 650 Nm MH2 model, while also making a slight upgrade to the suspension exterior to tap into the potential of the G87 M2.
However, Manhartr is not satisfied with this and recently launched the more powerful MH2 GTR II, just two months after the launch of the MH2.
While the new M2 is eye-catching with its muscular lines, Manhart has always made the modded version stand out by constantly upgrading it, so the tuning label's new MH2 GTR II should not disappoint.
The exterior design of the MH2 GTR II is almost the same as that of the MH2, but with a rather aggressive magenta lacquer, the iconic champagne Manhart decal shape and carbon fibre trim all over the body.
In terms of details, the bonnet with carbon fiber trim at the front, the carbon fiber trim on the air intakes on both sides of the front grille, and the spoiler front shovel at the bottom of the front bumper are all hard and light carbon fiber parts.
The carbon fibre side skirts of the MH2 package are retained on the side of the body, which effectively channels airflow at high speeds.
At the rear, the MH2 kit's carbon spoiler, carbon Alpha-N rear diffuser, and 100mm double-sided quad exhaust tailpipes have been upgraded, while the large carbon fibre fixed rear wing is exclusive to the MH2 GTR II, although it has not been revealed how much downforce it can generate.
In the running part, a set of forged wheels from the Raffa RFS-02 series has been upgraded, with 20×10.5J at the front and 21×11.5J at the rear. Underpinning all four wheels are the KW V4 twisted shock absorbers, tuned by Manhattan himself, to not only enhance the M2's stance, but also further improve track handling.
In the interior, the M2 GTR II has been largely unchanged as the M2 has been fitted with wrap-around carbon fibre seats, and Manhart has removed the rear seats in favour of champagne-coloured roll cages and multi-point seat belts, turning it into a true two-door, two-seater sports car.
In the case of the MH2 GTR II, the M2's 3.0-litre S58 six-cylinder twin-turbo engine has been upgraded again, bringing the maximum output to 715 hp and 850 Nm of torque. Compared to the M2's original 460 horsepower and the MH2's 560 horsepower, there is a significant increase.
Manhart says that in order to achieve this performance, all they did was re-write the ECU program and upgrade the carbon fiber intake components and the performance exhaust would greatly improve the performance output. In this way, the original hardware of S58 can cope with the existence of high horsepower, if the belly is upgraded and strengthened, thousands of horses are not difficult, and the current six-cylinder engine is worthy of its name.
