In fact, each ancient town is like a person with a unique personality and story, each with its own merits. As a local who grew up in Jiangnan, I have some preferences and understandings for the ancient towns here.

In my mind, Nanxun Ancient Town is definitely the first place in the south of the Yangtze River! First of all, its scenery is too beautiful and charming: surrounded by light clouds and light winds, there are many pavilions and pavilions, and small bridges and flowing water are quiet and good.
Unlike other ancient towns that require tickets, Nanxun retains the most simple way to enter the town - enter from the south gate and walk along the canopy boat pier step by step, you can appreciate its purest charm.
When you step on the bluestone road of Nanxun, the first thing that catches your eye is the relict and independent Little Lotus Village. This private garden, which was built in the Ming Dynasty, can be called one of the "four famous gardens in the south of the Yangtze River", and is undoubtedly the representative scenic spot of Nanxun.
The next must-see is the Jiaye Library. There are tens of thousands of books here, as well as the handwriting and authentic handwriting of famous artists, which makes people respect the cultural heritage of Nanxun.
My suggestion is to stay in Nanxun for a few days. Because in this way, you can realize: at dusk, fireworks are curling over the town; After nightfall, the ancient rhyme is long; In the early morning, the river is drifting with thick fog, like a fairyland on earth. You will also feel the unique atmosphere of life here: the elderly chattering on the roadside, the housewives staying at home, the children who go to and from school......

Another very interesting experience is to visit Nanxun on a rainy day. At this time, the wet roads, low-hanging branches, and the sound of the rain are perfectly integrated with the scenery of the ancient town, which seems to be unique.
You can go to a quiet tea room, sip a pot of fragrant tea, and listen to the sound of rain outside the window, so quiet and comfortable, with the power to open your heart.
Therefore, if you ask me which ancient town in the south of the Yangtze River I want to recommend, I will not hesitate to say: Nanxun! The mountains and rivers here are beautiful, simple and quiet, not inferior to Wuzhen Xitang, but there is a little less noise and artificiality. In Nanxun, you will be able to find the purest Jiangnan charm.
