A few days ago, Zhidian Mobility obtained the price of the new Mercedes-Benz G-Class overseas model, and the new car will be launched in three models, with a starting price of 148,675 euros (about 1.15 million yuan) in the market. At the same time, the new car will also make its debut in the domestic market on April 24, on the eve of the Beijing Motor Show, along with the G580 pure electric version and the all-new "small G-Class" model.
It is reported that the new Mercedes-Benz G550 model will be powered by an upgraded 3.0T inline six-cylinder turbocharged engine, with a maximum power of 320kW and a peak torque of 560N·m, and the transmission system is matched with a 9-speed automatic manual transmission and a 48-volt mild hybrid system. The new Mercedes-AMG G63 model will continue to use a 4.0T V8 twin-turbo engine with a maximum power of 430kW and a peak torque of 850Nm, and the transmission system is mated to a 9-speed automatic manual transmission, and is also equipped with a 48-volt mild hybrid system. The former will offer an off-road cockpit digital control layout and a "clear hood" feature borrowed from the EQE SUV, while the latter will also be available with G-wagen's new Active Ride-controlled suspension with hydraulic roll control hardware that eliminates the need for traditional anti-roll bars.
At the same time, the original Mercedes-Benz EQG model will also be officially named "G580", the new car is expected to be imported into the domestic market as soon as the end of this year, and the use of four-motor drive, equipped with 107.8kW·h battery pack, maximum output of 385kW, peak torque of 856N·m, and with "huge traction and controllability" of the four-motor power system and G-Turn "tank U-turn" function.
According to the brand plan, Mercedes-Benz's new small G-class model will also make its debut on the eve of the Beijing Auto Show, and it is planned to start production at the Kecskemét plant in Hungary at the end of 2026, and will go on sale in 2027. The new car will be based on the brand's new MMA platform, using modules from Mercedes' large rear-wheel drive cars, and will have true off-road capability. In addition, the new car will also be offered with lithium iron phosphate chemical battery pack, anode battery pack with silicon oxide content, and support 800V architecture and 250kW DC fast charging.
