On May 15, 2023, Xu Mouling, a man in Songjiang, Shanghai, forcibly broke into his parents-in-law's house and stabbed his 25-year-old wife Wu Mouqing in the neck and abdomen several times, causing her death.

This case occurred at about 20:00 on May 15, 2023, when Xu Mouling took his 4-year-old son to the residence of his parents-in-law in Songjiang District, Shanghai. His wife refused to open the door, and Xu Mouling became emotional and got into an argument with him outside the door. On February 8, 2023, after hearing the case, the Kaizhou District People's Court of Chongqing Municipality rejected the victim's claim on the grounds that "no credible and sufficient evidence was provided to prove that the relationship between the husband and wife had broken down, and the defendant did not agree to divorce".

Three months later, Xu ordered his wife to be killed, and then called 110 to call the police and voluntarily surrendered, and truthfully confessed the main facts of the crime after arriving at the case.
