A waterfront space where you can read, walk, and have temperature
The spring breeze is light, and everything on the east bank of the Pujiang River sprouts new, intertwined into a colorful spring picture. Take photos of flowers, jog and ride, watch art exhibitions, and visit parks...... Citizens and tourists spend a good time on the east bank riverside with a variety of ways to play.
In 2015, Pudong launched the work of connecting and opening up public spaces on the east bank of the Huangpu River. At the end of 2017, from Yangpu Bridge to Xupu Bridge, 22 kilometers of the core section of the east bank of the riverside were completed. Last year, the public space on the east bank of the riverfront was extended by another 2 kilometers to the south to the boundary of Minhang District.
Today, about 230 hectares of waterfront public space, 24 kilometers of continuous slow traffic system, and 15 cloud bridge landscape shorelines have been formed along the entire east bank of the riverfront, with shorelines, wharves, and green corridors as the main open space carriers, connecting greenery, squares, wharves, and ferry stations, and there are scenery all the way.
The scenery comes from the industrial heritage being reborn. The 80,000-ton silo of Minsheng Wharf was once the largest granary in Asia and has become an urban public cultural space with art exhibitions as its main function; the century-old shipyard has been upgraded to "Shipyard 1862" to explore the diversified development of "art + business", and the Yicang Art Museum has changed from "coal warehouse" to "art warehouse", and the exhibition has continued to ...... The continuous emergence of new landmarks has realized the transformation of the "industrial rust belt" to the "life show belt".
The scenery also comes from the temperature that is hidden in the details. On the Lujiazui Riverside Line, adjacent to the Oriental Pearl and the International Conference Center, there is a "treasure land" where high-rise buildings are not built and money is not sold, but Pudong chooses to cultivate cultural soft power, and finally leaves it to an art museum named "Pudong". At present, the Museum of Art Pudong has become an Internet celebrity check-in landmark.
With the help of large-scale research, Pudong actively asks citizens and tourists what they need and plans, and constantly responds to people's new needs for quality life. Covering an area of about 200 square meters, the "Wangjiangyi" is an indispensable place for citizens and tourists to stay in a collection of convenient facilities such as public lounges, public toilets, vending machines, umbrella stands, and information bulletin boards.

The 2,500-seat Grand Theatre can be switched between theater, flat and orchestra pit modes, and the black box exhibition space has been transformed into a splendid fashion week show...... Since the beginning of this year, Qiantan 31 Performing Arts Center has changed its costume several times to meet the needs of the venues that appear in turn. This new cultural landmark in the Expo area has attracted a lot of attention since its debut in October last year.
With 9.5 kilometers of Huangpu River shoreline, the Expo area is full of vitality. The China Art Palace, Mercedes-Benz Arena, World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, World Expo Center and other venues, together with the World Expo Cultural Park, Oriental Sports Center, Qiantan 31 Performing Arts Center and other cultural facilities, are distributed in clusters along the east bank of the Pujiang River, becoming the shining business card of the Expo. Driven by the agglomeration effect of "exhibitions, performances and festivals", the annual passenger flow of 10 million has brought great vitality to the Expo.
The vitality is not limited to the riverside, but also penetrates into the hinterland of the city, and the core industries are gathering at an accelerated pace.
By the end of 2023, the total construction area of the projects in operation in the Qiantan International Business District will be 3.2 million square meters. Among the more than 340 enterprises in Qiantan, more than 50% are headquarters and 54% are foreign-funded enterprises.
Lujiazui Financial City, as the core functional area of Shanghai's international financial center, has more than 8,000 financial institutions of various types, with a concentration of licensed financial institutions, contributing more than 50% of the added value of Shanghai's financial industry. There are more than 600 headquarters of various types in the region, of which the regional headquarters of multinational companies recognized by the commerce department account for nearly 1/6 of the city.

In the Shanghai World Expo Cultural Park, the newly completed Shanghai Jiushi International Equestrian Center will welcome the 2024 Shanghai Longines Global Equestrian Championships from May 3 to 5. Shanghai Longines Global Equestrian Championship is the highest-level, most internationally influential and most spectacular equestrian event held in Chinese mainland so far, and Shanghai Jiushi International Equestrian Center is the first permanent professional competition venue in China that meets the standards of international top equestrian events.
Twin Mountains, World Flower Garden, Greenhouse Garden, Shanghai Grand Opera House and other projects are in full swing. This year, the Expo Cultural Park, which covers an area of about 2 square kilometers, will be fully opened, and after completion, you will not only be able to climb mountains, ride horses, listen to operas, and enjoy gardens, creating the largest riverside park and green space in the central city of Shanghai in the future.
The recently issued "Three-year Action Plan for Improving the Energy Level of Shanghai's Business District (2024-2026)" also looks at Binjiang. Among them, it is clear that the Lujiazui business district strives to build an international-level consumer agglomeration area that gathers comprehensive functions such as high-end commercial business, tourism and sightseeing experience, and high-end cultural leadership. Make use of the advantages of resources such as the riverside waterfront to deepen the linkage of business, tourism, culture, sports and exhibitions.
