Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway is the most important horizontal expressway in Hubei, of which the section from Wuhan to Huangshi is the first expressway built in Hubei, which was opened to traffic in February 1991 and has been in operation for more than 30 years. The reconstruction and expansion section launched this time is the Ezhou section, starting from the Huahu hub of Wuhuang Expressway in Ezhou City, and ending at Wubian Village, Miaoling Town, Huarong District, Ezhou City, with a total length of about 37.4 kilometers, and the company's construction bid section is 30.2 kilometers long. The project adopts the method of widening on both sides, from the current two-way four-lane to two-way eight-lane.
After the reconstruction and expansion of the project, it will effectively improve the traffic capacity of the Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway and the Fuyin Expressway in Hubei Province, and is of great significance to connect the Wuhan metropolitan area with Wuhan-Hubei Huanghuang area as the core and support the national and provincial development strategies of important transportation infrastructure projects.
