【Video】Tang Jun: Breast Cancer Plastic Surgery, Breast Conservation and Reconstruction = Reshape Your Beautiful Life

author:Yangcheng faction

Breast cancer is one of the most common malignancies in women. According to statistics, the incidence rate accounts for 7%-10% of all kinds of malignant tumors in the body, second only to uterine cancer in women, and the incidence rate is higher in women between the ages of 40 and 60 and before and after menopause. A diagnosis of breast cancer means that there is a risk of losing breasts, which is a double blow to women who love beauty, both physically and psychologically.

April 15-21 this year is the 30th National Cancer Prevention and Treatment Publicity Week and China Anti-Cancer Day. Under the specific guidance of the Guangdong Provincial Health Commission, the Cancer Center of Sun Yat-sen University and the Yangcheng Evening News jointly launched the "Healthy Guangdong" Science Popularization Live Broadcast Room - Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center.

Breast hyperplasia, breast nodules, breast cysts, you are still stupid and can't tell the difference?

In recent years, the incidence of breast cancer has been increasing, and at the same time, the attention of the whole society to breast health is also increasing year by year. When they see words such as breast hyperplasia, breast nodules, and breast cysts on the breast ultrasound report, many women worry about whether these breast abnormalities may develop into breast cancer. Professor Tang Jun answered in the live broadcast room that most cases such as breast hyperplasia, benign breast nodules, and breast cysts will not become cancerous. "A very small number of breast nodules are malignant nodules that will develop into breast cancer in the future, but this kind of malignant nodules are difficult to distinguish from benign nodules through imaging examinations in the early stage, so that everyone misunderstands that benign nodules later develop into malignant nodules or even breast cancer. ”

Professor Tang Jun explained that breast specialists will classify breast nodules according to the examination results, which are roughly divided into 1 to 5 categories, and each category can be specifically divided into three categories: A, B, and C. It is generally believed that breast nodules above category 4b are considered to have an increased risk of breast cancer, and it is necessary to go to a specialist for diagnosis and treatment as soon as possible. Most of the breast nodules below 4A are benign nodules, and the risk of developing breast cancer is relatively low.

Plastic breast conserving ≠ conventional breast conservancy

It is understood that unlike the average age of breast cancer in Europe and the United States, which is 63 years old, the majority of breast cancer patients in mainland China are 40-45 years old. This group of young patients not only wants to keep their health, but also wants to keep their breasts and beauty. In recent years, the proportion of breast-conserving surgery for breast cancer has gradually increased, but after breast conserving surgery, 20% of patients have deformed breasts, so how to improve the breast-conserving rate and make breast-conserving surgery more beautiful at the same time is a problem faced by mammologists. In recent years, the new term "plastic breast retention" has appeared more and more in the public eye, how is it different from conventional breast preservation?

Professor Tang Jun answered in the live broadcast room that conventional breast conservation is to completely remove the tumor and then directly suture the remaining breast tissue. On the one hand, the tumor can be removed as completely as possible through oncologic surgery to ensure the safety of the patient, and on the other hand, the missing part of the breast can be repaired to completeness through plastic surgery, so as to restore the beauty of the breast, so as to achieve the purpose of "having both fish and bear's paws".

According to Professor Tang Jun, the concept of plastic surgery and breast conservation has only been proposed in the world for about 10 years, but it has developed rapidly, and more than 10 methods for repairing breast defects have been designed internationally, including different categories such as prosthesis implantation and autologous tissue reconstruction. Some of the methods of breast reconstruction using autologous tissue are used to repair breast defects by moving tissues within the breast, and some are used to repair chest wall deformities and breast defects by transplanting adjacent tissues to restore the healthy and beautiful appearance of the breast. "As a breast surgeon, the more methods you have, the more likely you are to deal with a variety of complex situations to meet the individual needs of your patients. For example, the most suitable surgery can be selected according to the size and shape of the patient's breast, the size and location of the tumor, and the tumor can be removed as much as possible, so that the patient can still have the same natural shape of the breast after surgery as possible before the operation. It is understood that with the help of plastic surgery and breast conservation, the breast conservation rate of breast cancer in the Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center has increased from 10%-15% 10 years ago to 60%-70% now.

At the same time, you can also change the bucket waist and elephant legs?

Among the methods of breast reconstruction using autologous tissue, there is a "new method" that has been very popular with female patients since its first introduction, and this method is to use the fat of the female patient's own abdomen and buttocks to reconstruct the breast. Professor Tang Jun introduced in the live broadcast room that some women will accumulate more fat in the abdomen or thighs when they reach middle age, so these fats and skin can be used as the best "material base" for breast reconstruction for breast cancer patients. Doctors can cut off the fat from the abdomen or legs in their entirety, along with the blood vessels, and then transplant it to the chest to match the missing breast, achieving a "perfect reconstruction" of the breast, and also shaping the abdomen and legs.

As an expert in breast surgery, Professor Tang Jun has been looking for the best balance between "health and beauty" for breast cancer patients. This is because in the contact with breast cancer patients for many years, he deeply feels that the disease brings not only physical pain to patients, but also psychological trauma, some patients have been cured of the disease, but they have not been able to get out of the haze of their hearts. "How to help patients return to their families and return to normal life as soon as possible through humanistic care and psychological support is an important task for us to do in the future. Professor Tang Jun said.
