Recently, Guangzhou Customs seized a batch of imported waste clothes in the freight channel, which belonged to foreign garbage, totaling 1.24 tons.
When the customs officers of Nansha Customs, which belongs to Guangzhou Customs, inspected a batch of imported goods declared as "electronic products, kitchen utensils, etc.", they found that several bags of waste clothes had not been declared to the customs in the containers. The surface of these clothes has obvious wrinkles, large stains, yellowing of the lining, etc., which is suspected of foreign garbage. After being sent to a professional institution for identification, it was confirmed that the batch of waste clothes belonged to the foreign garbage prohibited from being imported by the mainland, totaling 1.24 tons.
Customs reminds that according to the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste and relevant laws and regulations, if overseas solid waste is illegally imported into China, the Customs will investigate its legal responsibility in accordance with the law.
