At the BRTV Grand Theater of Beijing Radio and Television, the performance of the new round of musical "The Awakening Age" is undergoing intensive rehearsals, and will go to the Beijing Century Theater for final synthesis in about a week. The musical "Awakening Age" is adapted from the TV series of the same name, with Li Dazhao and Chen Duxiu spreading Marxism and meeting to build the party as the main line, and the bumpy experience of Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai and other revolutionary youths in pursuit of truth as the auxiliary line, showing the magnificent historical picture from the New Culture Movement, the May Fourth Movement to the establishment of the Communist Party of China. Chen Duxiu's actor Yu Xiaoxuan said that he could still feel strong emotions when he rehearsed this drama again.
Yu Xiaoxuan: When we got to Mr. Chen Duxiu, Yan Nian, and Qiao Nian to separate this scene, because we hadn't performed this on stage for a long time, we kept thinking about how much energy we need to put into this scene when synthesizing, but emotions are pushing you forward, and tears can't stop flowing down, I think this is a kind of power brought by this story.

Last year, the music and choreography of the show were loved by the audience, and this year's performance will be upgraded: the music is mainly changed for the composition, arrangement, and lyrics of the first half, and the choreography has reduced the original false frames, reduced the large platform at the rear, replaced it with an open bridge on both sides, and added electric moving scenery, etc. Director Gao Ruijia introduced:
Gao Ruijia: In terms of music, on the basis of ensuring the previous good melody, we have made some adjustments to the density of the lyrics of the main song, and in some places we have made up some of the tail parts of the song to strengthen the inner and emotional feelings of the characters. The main thing about the stage is to add dynamics, because the scene changes quickly, and we want it to be fluid, so that the audience can understand the message more accurately.
This drama adopts an all-youth performance lineup, and 17 new actors have been added this year to sing passionate stories of family and country in the name of youth. Actor Deng Xinrui is one of the actors who joined, playing Lu Xun in the play. He said:
Deng Xinrui: I read a lot of Mr. Lu Xun's biography, and then read his works, and learned about his character and his way of doing things. I want to show him that he is cold on the outside and hot on the inside, he is very cold, but in his heart he is very desperate to express his love for his students, his family, and the things he likes.

Through the long river of history, illuminate the road ahead with the original intention. The musical "The Age of Awakening" will lead the audience to rekindle the awakening power of "turning back from the darkness to the light". Screenwriter Cheng Leer said:
Cheng Leer: Although "The Age of Awakening" tells the story of a group of people 100 years ago, he resonates very much with the youth and enthusiasm of our contemporaries. After a year of polishing, I think that our return to the characters and the emotional logic of the characters will make our ancestors more complete, three-dimensional and cute, and the audience can better bring them into their emotions and be passionate with them in this great era.
The show will be staged at the Beijing Century Theatre and will run from April 26 to May 5.
