It is an evergreen shrub or small tree, which is produced in the southwest of Sichuan and the southeast to northwest of Yunnan. Born at an altitude of about 1550-2600 meters above sea level in the slope shrubs or under the mountain evergreen broad-leaved forests, the trunk height is 1-5 (-10) meters; There are many branches. Young branches are ridged and glabrous. Leaves leathery, ovate-lanceolate, oblong-lanceolate or ovate, 3-7(-13) cm long, 1.7-3.5 cm wide, apex acute, base broadly wedge-shaped or obtusely rounded, sparsely wedge-shaped, margins finely serrate! glabrous on both sides, midrib convex on both sides, lateral veins slender, slightly convex on both sides, or flat or slightly subtracted on surface, petioles 3-6 mm long, glabrous. The flowering period is from February to May, and the fruiting period is from July to November. The shoots have a slightly sour taste.
