Yang Yaoning, born in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province in November 1958, is currently the vice president of Jiangsu Provincial Academy of Chinese Painting, deputy director of the Art Committee of Jiangsu Provincial Academy of Chinese Painting and director of the Institute of Landscape Painting, a national first-class artist, a member of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and enjoys special government allowances from the State Council.

"The benevolent man enjoys the mountain, the wise man enjoys the water", ancient Chinese landscape painting is always associated with people's character and temperament, and the subtlety of Chinese is always expressed in Zen in landscape painting. However, Yang Yaoning's paintings rarely have the subtle forbearance and reserved beauty of traditional landscape paintings, and he uses an extremely exaggerated form of expression to catch the audience's attention and make people unforgettable.
Yang Yaoning is good at using color, he uses color ruthlessly, uses it enough, and never looks forward or backward, its brightness and saturation are incisive. For thousands of years, Chinese painting has formed a set of fixed formulas, and it has gradually become more and more conformist. In modern times, the country has opened widely, and Lin Fengmian, Zao Wou-ki, Wu Guanzhong and others have come out of new ideas on the road of combining Chinese and Western cultures. Although Yang Yaoning is not a graduate of the academy, he has studied Chinese and Western painting for decades, and he combines the brush and ink techniques of Chinese painting with the expression of Western oil painting to create his own personalized language. The first exploration is the use of color and the relationship between color and light. His paintings have the light sense of Western impressionism and the luxury of Baroque style, where color and light blend and collide, like the movement of a symphony.
