On April 22, 2024, we will celebrate the 55th Earth Day, and the theme of this year's Earth Day is "Planet vs. Plastics." In response to this theme, on the eve of Earth Day, Urban Planning China (planning_org) launched the "Planning vs. Plastics" initiative, calling on all planners to take action, starting from themselves and the small things around them, to reject plastic pollution and care for the beautiful earth.
Plastic is a great invention of mankind and is relatively common in people's daily life. At present, plastic products have been widely used in all aspects of our clothing, food, housing and transportation, from food packaging to building materials. Much of the plastic is incinerated, buried, eaten by animals, and eventually collected into the human body through air, soil, water, food, etc. The plastic waste we throw away is not only endangering the earth we live on, but also entering our bodies step by step and seriously endangering our health. In our daily lives, each of us should raise our environmental awareness and work together to reduce the harm of plastic waste.
