The tea source street where Zhang Hongmei's home is located is the core area of tea planting in Pu'an County, with a total population of 360,000, a tea planting area of 183,000 mu, and a per capita tea garden area of more than 0.5 mu. Every spring is the busiest day for Zhang Hongmei's family.
Zhang Hongmei told us that because of the good climatic conditions, Pu'an is one of the earliest tea areas in the country to mine spring tea, and it is mined about 20 days earlier than other places. In recent years, whenever spring tea is mined, it has attracted nearly 10,000 tea merchants to come and buy it.
The tea trading market, which is about a kilometer away from Zhang Hongmei's eldest sister's house, is the main tea distribution center in Pu'an and even several nearby tea-producing counties.
With years of experience in tea making, coupled with the concentration of buyers, Zhang Hongmei's more than 100 catties of dry tea were sold out in less than 20 minutes, and this has become the norm of tea trading.
"According to our statistics, the daily transaction volume of dry tea is about 20,000 catties, and the transaction volume is about 8 million, and 20,000 catties of tea is about 80,000 catties of green tea. Zhang Dingchao, deputy director of the Pu'an County Agriculture and Rural Bureau, said.
This year, the local area has also opened 3 spring tea transportation lines, specially sent people to settle in the trading center, the day of the transaction of dry tea packaging, through logistics to all parts of the country, not only to solve the logistics problem of tea merchants, but also to let spring tea quickly out of the mountain.
"It's been 20 years, and if it's not good, I won't collect it, it's good to collect it. How many fellows have we brought over now, dozens more. Shandong tea merchant Qin Cunyang said.
After selling tea, Zhang Hongmei sister only had time to sit down and talk, in the conversation we learned that she has been making tea for more than 30 years, these years, she has developed from scratch to have more than 30 sets of roasted tea equipment, more than 100 square meters of processing workshop, now the whole family is living on tea, and with tea has formed a deep relationship.
"It's a gold leaf, really, you see we sold a pack this morning, the small one is more than 10,000, and the big one is more than 20,000, isn't it just like a gold leaf, hahaha. Zhang Hongmei said.
Today, there are more than 70,000 farmers in Pu'an County like Zhang Hongmei's eldest sister who are engaged in tea, and more than 200 tea-related entities (cooperatives).
When night fell, Sister Zhang Hongmei and her family were busy spreading, drying, drying, and fragrant the tea green tea purchased in the afternoon, preparing for tomorrow's dry tea transaction.
