The Curriculum Achievement Exhibition leads to thinking, innovation and growth

The Faculty of Liberal Studies Student Curriculum Achievement Exhibition also opened at noon on the 17th at the T4 Faculty and Student Activity Center. The exhibition brought together more than 200 works by students from different majors, covering calligraphy, poetry, oil painting, Chinese painting, cloisonné enamel, pottery, musical instruments, board games, social practice reports, photography works, competition videos and other forms. The forms of the works are rich and diverse, bringing an artistic and cultural feast to teachers and students.

At the 12th School of Science and Technology (FST) Poster Exhibition, FST and Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Data Science and Technology Interdisciplinary Application jointly presented a feast of technology and creativity for UICer.

Professor Chow Yam-keung, Provost and Provost of UIC said, UIC has always focused on nurturing students' practical ability and innovative spirit to enable them to cope with the complexities of the future and seize opportunities. The FST Poster Exhibition not only provides students with the opportunity to showcase their practical results, but also provides a valuable platform for communication.

Professor Pan Jianxin, Associate Vice-President (International Development) and Dean of the School of Science and Technology, delivered a speech

The poster exhibition showcased 104 research reports from undergraduate and graduate students in 8 majors, including Applied Mathematics, Applied Psychology, Computer Science and Technology, Data Science, Environmental Science, Financial Mathematics, Food Science and Engineering, and Statistics. In addition, 11 groups of award-winning student works in domestic and foreign competitions were also displayed, and the award-winning students brought wonderful sharing.

Many of our students' research projects have provided innovative ideas for social and livelihood issues. For example, students majoring in applied mathematics have innovatively explored methods for modeling infectious diseases, students majoring in applied psychology have conducted in-depth research on the impact of family roles on children's development and provided scientific guidance for family education, students majoring in computer science and technology have helped to improve the efficiency of early diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer, students majoring in data science have worked on developing a unique traffic sign recognition system in China, and students majoring in environmental science have provided comprehensive strategies for ecological corridor development and habitat quality assessment in highly urbanized environments such as Zhuhai City, contributing to the construction of ecological civilizationFood science and engineering students have revealed the molecular mechanism of bellflower anti-obesity through network pharmacology and molecular docking technology, and statistics students are committed to data analysis methodology and its application in many fields.
