In the 9th community of Lianghekou Community, Heming Town, there is a 12-meter-high ancient loquat tea tree, with a thick trunk, which requires two people to hug together, and is called the "King of Tea Trees" in Dayi. In a minute, Zhou Yanjun, a member of the Tea Alliance, climbed up to the treetops and began to pick tea. "We only pick spring tea for one season, and we mine it at 7 a.m. and we have to be busy until 6 p.m. Zhou Yanjun said that it takes two or three days to pick a big tree like this, and you can get 50 catties of tea green, which is worth more than 10,000 yuan after drying and processing.
In order to protect the ancient loquat tea trees, after harvesting the tea greens, Zhou Yanjun pruned the branches around the ancient trees and cleared the weeds so that the trees could receive more sunlight. He introduced that the production method of ancient tree loquat tea is different from that of general shrub tea, and the time and temperature of withering, rolling, fermentation and roasting are all particular.
In the loquat tea garden in the Taiping community of Kangjiang Town, the villagers who are members of the alliance are also busy picking fresh leaves. His tea garden has more than 200 ancient loquat tea trees, and about 1,000 catties of tea can be picked a year. He said that now the ancient tree loquat tea has reached 40 yuan a catty, and he hopes that more and more villagers and enterprises will join in, so that more people can understand and taste Dayi ancient tree loquat tea.
More than 800 years ago, the Southern Song Dynasty poet Lu You once wrote a poem after drinking Dayi tea: "Today, Shuzhou has white hair, and the clay furnace tries tea in the fog alone." "There are clues that can speculate that the tea that Lu You drank is likely to be ancient tree loquat tea.
