AI integration in design and productivity applications is becoming the new standard, driving the need for advanced computing performance. This means that regardless of the size, complexity, or scope of their projects, professionals and creators need to harness more computing power.

To meet this growing demand, NVIDIA is expanding its lineup of RTX professional graphics cards with two new desktop GPUs based on the NVIDIA Ampere architecture—the NVIDIA RTX A400 and NVIDIA RTX A1000.

These two products make AI and ray tracing more accessible to more people, giving professionals the tools they need to transform their daily workflows.

A new era of creativity, performance and efficiency

RTX A400 GPUs bring accelerated ray tracing and AI to RTX 400 Series GPUs. With 24 Tensor Cores for AI processing tasks, it goes beyond traditional CPU solutions and enables professionals to run cutting-edge AI applications like intelligent chatbots and copilot directly on their desktops.

With the GPU's real-time ray tracing capabilities, creators can create vivid and physically accurate 3D renderings that push the boundaries of creativity and realism.

The A400 also features four display outputs, the first of its kind in the series, making it suitable for high-density display environments that are critical to industries such as financial services, command and control, retail, transportation, and more.

The NVIDIA RTX A1000 GPU is the first RTX 1000 Series GPU with Tensor Cores and RT Cores, bringing accelerated AI and ray tracing performance to creators and professionals.

With 72 Tensor Cores, the A1000 delivers a significant increase in performance over the previous generation, enabling tools like Stable Diffusion to process generative AI faster by more than 3x. And 18 RT Cores speed up graphics and rendering tasks by up to 3X, accelerating professional workflows such as 2D and 3D computer-aided design (CAD), product and architectural design, and 4K video editing.

The A1000 also excels in video processing. Compared to the previous generation, it delivers a 38% increase in encoded stream processing power and a 2x improvement in decoding performance.

The A400 and A1000 GPUs deliver power in a compact, energy-efficient workstation with a clean, single-socket design that consumes just 50W.

Amplify the impact of RTX

These two new GPUs bring advanced AI, graphics, and computing power to users that boost their productivity and unleash their creativity. Advanced workflows with ray-traced rendering and AI capabilities are now at your fingertips, allowing professionals to push boundaries and achieve stunning realism.

Industrial planners can leverage these powerful, energy-efficient new computing solutions for edge deployments. Creators can edit and render faster to produce richer visual content. Architects and engineers can seamlessly translate ideas from 3D CAD concept drawings into real-world designs. Teams working in smart spaces can use these two GPUs to enable real-time data processing, AI to improve security, and digital signage management in confined spaces. Medical professionals can analyze medical images faster and more accurately.

Financial professionals rely on large, high-resolution visual workspaces to improve the efficiency of trading, analysis, and data management. With native support for up to four 4K displays, users in the financial services sector can now achieve higher display densities with fewer GPUs, simplifying office desktop setup and reducing costs.

Next-generation features and accelerated performance

NVIDIA RTX A400 and A1000 GPUs have features that power the flow of your day-to-day work, including:

  • RT Core Gen 2: Real-time ray tracing, photorealistic physically rendering, and visualization for a wide range of professional workflows, including architectural drawing, 3D design, and content creation, with accurate lighting and shadow simulation to dramatically improve the quality of work.
  • 3rd Gen Tensor Cores: Accelerate AI-enhanced tools and applications, such as generative AI, image rendering denoising, and deep learning supersampling (DLSS), to improve the speed and quality of images.
  • Ampere Architecture CUDA Core: Up to 2x the single-precision floating-point throughput of the previous generation, dramatically accelerating graphics and compute workloads.
  • 4GB or 8GB GPU memory: Whether it's basic graphic design and photo editing, or more demanding 3D texture modeling or high-resolution editing and data analysis, the A400 GPU's 4GB of GPU memory and the A1000 GPU's 8GB of GPU memory meet a variety of professional needs. The increased memory bandwidth of these two GPUs over the previous generation speeds up data processing and smoother processing of large data sets and scenes.
  • Encoding and decoding engines: With the 7th generation encoding (NVENC) and 5th generation decoding (NVDEC) engines, these GPUs enable efficient video processing with extremely low latency for high-resolution video editing, streaming, and playback. Built-in AV1 decoding allows for smoother playback of more video formats than ever before.
