In addition to the Shandong Provincial Governor Quality Award, Diao Tongwu also has honors such as "National Model Worker", "National May Day Labor Medal", "Outstanding Communist Party Member of Shandong Province" and "Model Worker of Shandong Province". With the blessing of multiple awards, Diao Tongwu said simply: "I just did my part in an ordinary job and did my duty. ”
Not to fight for the first place is to mix
In October 2004, 25-year-old Diao Tongwu entered the body department of China National Heavy Duty Truck Company Jinan Truck Company to be responsible for maintenance work, when the body department was building the HOWO cab welding production line, which was the most advanced production line of the company at that time.
"Before I started this work, I didn't know anything about the welding and production equipment of the cab, and I started everything from scratch. HOWO main tailored welding line is designed and installed by APPICO company in Thailand, pure English manual, the whole workshop can understand the manual and can communicate with foreign experts very few people, to me like a book in heaven. Diao Tongwu said frankly, "At that time, there was only one thought in my head: no matter how difficult it is, I must learn to understand, I must learn maintenance technology, this is my job, my job!"
To this end, Diao Tongwu stared at the construction site every day and followed the experts to debug. When you encounter a problem that you don't understand, you will ask foreign experts or workshop masters for advice. In order to consult the information, Diao Tongwu spent more than 400 yuan to buy an electronic dictionary, which was a lot of money at that time. Flipping through the dictionary, checking information, and taking notes, despite the great difficulties, with a tenacity, Diao Tongwu finally mastered the working principle of the main tailored welding line and complex technologies such as fixture control in two months, and was the first maintenance worker in the entire production line at that time to master the principle of cab welding structure, adjust the fixture, master the operation of the main welding line operation robot and solve the transmission overload fault.
Someone asked Diao Tongwu why he had to fight for the first place? Diao Tongwu replied: "I am in the maintenance business, and I must master the maintenance technology! The words of Chairman Tan Xuguang have touched my heart, that is, 'If you do not fight for the first place, you are in the mix.'"
At that time, every time the model was changed, foreign experts drilled under the main line trench to operate, which was very dangerous and dirty. In order to learn "real skills", as long as there is an opportunity, Diao Tongwu will follow foreign experts to drill under the trench. At first, for the sake of safety, foreign experts did not agree to Diao Tongwu following in, and the two sides argued for a long time. In the end, Diao Tongwu's persistence could not be resisted, and foreign experts not only agreed to Diao Tongwu to get in, but also continued to give guidance.
"At that time, I had to drill several times a day, often going in clean and coming out covered in dirt. Speaking of this paragraph, Diao Tongwu said with some excitement, "But after learning it, don't mention that kind of joy." ”
Solve the quality challenge for the first time
As a maintenance personnel in the welding workshop, you must not only be able to repair the equipment, but also solve the quality problems caused by the equipment. To this end, Diao Tongwu has carried out in-depth study in the quality of the process under the condition of completing his own work.
In 2006, Diao Tongwu's workshop often had pits in the middle of the doors of two imported door edging machines with high value, which could not meet the quality requirements. By the time the problem arose, the project had already been delivered, and foreign experts had returned home. Since it was a new device, everyone didn't have the guts to solve it. After several days of on-site observation and analysis, with the mastery of mechanical and hydraulic working principles and the knowledge of self-taught welding principles, Diao Tongwu Mao recommended himself to undertake this work.
After the leaders agreed, Diao Tongwu used the noon break to repair and adjust the edging machine, and as a result, the pits were completely eliminated when the third door was test-installed. But after the product came out, there were still small marks on a closer look. Everybody said, that's good. Diao Tongwu was not satisfied, and carried out a second maintenance and debugging, and finally eliminated the flaw.
"This is the first time I've successfully solved a quality problem. Diao Tongwu told reporters, "To be honest, I was also worried at that time, because I was only 50% sure at that time." But then I thought, since no one can repair it, if I don't try hard, then I won't even have a 50% chance. ”
Later, in the face of the problem of unmatched assembly fixtures, Diao Tongwu stepped forward again, and after some tests, completely eliminated the problem that the previous door clearance needed to be adjusted repeatedly, ending the history of China National Heavy Duty Truck Jinan Truck Company not using hinge assembly fixtures.

To be a comprehensive high-skilled talent
In 2015, Diao Tongwu received a more challenging task: T5G four-door line construction.
In October of that year, the company received a notice from the group to hold a business conference at the end of the year, requiring T5G four-door fire trucks to participate in the exhibition. Diao Tongwu told reporters, "This means that our factory will make the cab before November." However, the situation at that time was that the fixture was assembled to about 75% in the manufacturer, the air path control was not installed at all, and some of the products of the four-door door were not completed in the outsourcing manufacturer. ”
In the face of this almost impossible task, Diao Tongwu used many years of maintenance experience to adjust all the equipment parameters many times, and changed the process plan of the cab according to the actual requirements. During the production process, Diao Tongwu guided the whole process of the welding process, climbed up and down in the cab, "one day for two and a half days", and worked day and night for 3 days, the first cab finally went off the assembly line, and the test results were fully up to standard. Since then, the construction of the T5G four-door cab has lasted for more than a year, and the installation, product inspection, acceptance, and cab quality improvement have been implemented one by one. Over the past year, Diao Tongwu has lost a lot of weight.
"Tired is tired, but when I saw the successful completion of the report of 30 cars sent to Hong Kong, I felt that no matter how tired I was, it was worth it. Diao Tongwu said that over the years, he has become more and more aware that maintenance workers should not just passively solve problems, but should prevent problems from occurring. Excellent maintenance workers should not only have rich theoretical knowledge, but also apply theory to practice to solve practical problems, that is, become comprehensive senior technical personnel.
After realizing the importance of comprehensive skills, Diao Tongwu took the professional textbooks he used to go to school and studied them seriously again, and spent his weekends teaching himself CAD, CATIA and other drawing and modeling software.
With the accumulation of knowledge, Diao Tongwu has mastered the welding process of the entire cab, and the work content has gradually developed from a single equipment maintenance to participating in the construction of the company's large-scale welding line. Since then, Diao Tongwu has also participated in the 2019-NG17 (Yellow River) cab project, and the first batch of cabs (34 vehicles) of Sinotruk Yellow River vehicles were produced by the five-person team of Diao Tongwu Studio.
