Wang Dong, former deputy mayor of Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, was dismissed from public office for serious violations of the law;
Lin Wenfeng, former member of the Standing Committee of the Chaozhou Municipal Party Committee and former deputy mayor of the municipal government of Guangdong Province, was expelled from the party and public office for serious violations of discipline and law;
Zheng Yuanping, former deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Qingyuan City People's Congress in Guangdong Province, was expelled from the party and public office for serious violations of discipline and law.
The three were investigated between September and December last year.
Wang Dong, former vice mayor of Guangzhou, was the president of Tianjin Architectural Design Institute, and was transferred to the deputy director and chief engineer of the Guangzhou Municipal Construction Committee in July 2003, and later stepped down as chief engineer. In September 2007, he was appointed as the director of the Guangzhou Municipal Urban Planning Bureau, in October 2009, and the following year, he was appointed as the vice chairman of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. In January 2012, Wang Dong was appointed vice mayor of Guangzhou, and in 2022, he stepped down from the post of vice mayor after 10 years.
According to the circular issued on 17 July, Wang Dong was accused of ignoring the spirit of the eight central regulations and accepting gifts in violation of regulations; violating the requirements of the organization, concealing and failing to report relevant personal matters, wantonly abusing his power for personal gain, taking advantage of his position to seek benefits for others in increasing the floor area ratio of construction projects, adjusting land use planning, contracting engineering projects, and so on, and illegally accepting huge sums of money.
Lin Wenfeng, former member of the Standing Committee of the Chaozhou Municipal Party Committee and former deputy mayor of the municipal government, is a native of Chaozhou, worked as a teacher in his youth, and served as a TV program host, reporter, deputy director of the special department, etc., after March 1996, he entered the party and government office of Fengxi District, Chaozhou City, and entered the official career.
Lin Wenfeng served as Deputy Director of the Chaozhou Municipal Development and Reform Bureau, Director of the Bureau of Statistics, Magistrate of Raoping County, Secretary of the Party Committee of Raoping County, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Chaozhou Port Economic Development Zone, and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Fujian-Guangdong Economic Cooperation Zone (Chaozhou). Since September 2020, he has served as the deputy mayor of Chaozhou City. In January 2022, he was appointed as a member of the Standing Committee of the Chaozhou Municipal Party Committee and Executive Vice Mayor.
In the "double opening" circular, Lin Wenfeng was accused of losing his ideals and beliefs, betraying his original aspiration and mission, ignoring the spirit of the eight central regulations, accepting gifts in violation of regulations, and accepting banquets that might affect the fair performance of official duties; violating honesty and discipline by obtaining large returns through private loans; engaging in power-for-money transactions on a large scale, taking advantage of his position to seek benefits for others in project construction, project contracting, land transfer, and other aspects, and illegally accepting huge amounts of property.
Zheng Yuanping, former deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Qingyuan Municipal People's Congress, is also a local cadre in Qingyuan, who served as the director of the Qingyuan Supply and Marketing Cooperative, the county magistrate of Liannan Yao Autonomous County, and a member of the Party Group of the Standing Committee of the Qingyuan Municipal People's Congress, and a member of the Party Group and deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Qingyuan Municipal People's Congress in 2015.
In the "double-opening" circular, Zheng Yuanping lost his ideals and beliefs, betrayed his original aspiration and mission, was disloyal and dishonest to the party, and resisted organizational censorship; ignored the spirit of the eight central regulations and accepted gifts and money in violation of regulations; violated organizational principles, used his authority to seek benefits for many people in the selection and appointment of cadres, and entered and exited the country (border) many times without approval; violated honesty and discipline and used his power to seek benefits for his relatives' business activities; participated in gambling activities for a long time; failed to abide by the bottom line of discipline and law, and was willing to be "hunted" , taking advantage of his position to seek benefits for others in project contracting, project development, etc., and illegally accepting huge amounts of property.
