Summary of the international African swine fever epidemic in March 2024

Through the information released on the official website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Information 365 summarized the global African swine fever epidemic situation in March 2024, as follows:

　　1. There was one outbreak of African swine fever in wild boars in Ukraine

　　On March 1, Ukraine reported an outbreak of African swine fever in wild boars in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, in which nine wild boars were infected and died.

　　2. There were 2 outbreaks of African swine fever in wild boars and 3 cases in domestic pigs in Romania

　　On March 1, Romania reported 2 cases of wild boars and 3 cases of African swine fever in domestic pigs in 4 places including Satumare County, 2 wild boars were infected and died, 355 domestic pigs were infected, 11 died, and 344 were culled.

　　3. There were 16 outbreaks of African swine fever in wild boars in Poland

　　On March 1, Poland reported 16 outbreaks of African swine fever in wild boars in 4 places, including Primorsky Province, and 30 wild boars were infected and died.

　　4. There were 23 outbreaks of African swine fever in wild boars in Latvia

　　On March 5, Latvia reported 23 outbreaks of African swine fever in wild boars in five places, including Zemugari district, and 39 wild boars were infected and died.

　　On March 29, Bosnia and Herzegovina reported an outbreak of African swine fever in wild boars in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and one wild boar was infected and died.

　　On March 29 and April 5, Poland reported 84 outbreaks of African swine fever in wild boars in 7 places, including the Western Primorsky Province, and 138 wild boars were infected and died.
