1. Two outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds and two in poultry in Poland
On 29 February and 1 and 4 March, Poland reported 2 outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds and 2 cases in poultry in 4 places, including Primorsky Province, with 50 free-range poultry infected, 39 killed, 11 culled, 33,000 poultry infected, 1,102 killed, and 53,000 culled.
2. One outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds occurred in Hungary
On 29 February, Hungary reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds in the region of Veszprém Oblast, in which two wild birds were infected and died.
3. Two outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N5 subtype in wild birds occurred in the United Kingdom
On 1 March, the United Kingdom reported two outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N5 subtype in wild birds in England, and two wild birds were infected and died.
4. Nine outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds occurred in Germany
On March 1, Germany reported nine outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds in four places, including Lower Saxony, and 12 wild birds were infected and died.
5. One outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N5 subtype in wild birds occurred in Germany
On 1 March, Germany reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N5 subtype in wild birds in Schleswigholstein, and one wild bird was infected and died.
6. One outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds occurred in Ukraine
On 1 March, Ukraine reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds in the Odessa region, in which one wild bird was infected and died.

9. Three outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds occurred in the Czech Republic
On March 4, the Czech Republic reported three outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds in two places, including the southern Czech region, in which 28 wild birds and free-range poultry were infected, 26 died, and 7 were culled.
10. One outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in poultry and wild birds occurred in Romania
On March 4 and 5, Romania reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in poultry and wild birds in 2 places, including Bochatoni County, in which 8,035 poultry were infected, 649 died, 7,386 were culled, and 1 wild bird was infected and died.
11. Two outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds occurred in Austria
On 4 March, Austria reported two outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds in Lower Austria, and two wild birds were infected and died.
12. One outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in poultry occurred in Bulgaria
On 4 March, Bulgaria reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in poultry in Haskovo County, in which 102 poultry were infected and died and 40,000 were culled.
13. There were 22 outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds in Denmark
On March 4, Denmark reported 22 outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds in 7 places, including the city of Nestveez, and 23 wild birds were infected and died.
14. There were four outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in poultry and eight in wild birds in the United States
On March 4, the United States reported 4 outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in poultry and wild birds in 8 places, including Missouri, 722 poultry were infected and died, 101,000 were culled, 73 wild and free-range poultry were infected and died, and 194 were culled.
15. One outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5 subtype in wild birds occurred in Sweden
On 6 March, Sweden reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5 subtype in wild birds in the province of Götland, and one wild bird was infected and died.
16. Two outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in poultry occurred in Nigeria
On 6 March, Nigeria reported two outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in poultry in Plateau State, in which 2,502 poultry were infected, 29 died and 2,473 were culled.
17. Four outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds occurred in Poland
On March 7, 8 and 11, Poland reported four outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds in two places, including the Greater Poland Voivodeship, and four wild birds were infected and died.
18. One outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds occurred in Slovenia
On 7 March, Slovenia reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds in the Podlav district, in which one wild bird was infected and died.
19. Five outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds occurred in Canada
On March 7, Canada reported five outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds in five places, including Alberta, and many wild birds were infected and died.

On 8 March, Norway reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild mammals in Finnmark County, and one wild red fox was infected and died.

On March 8 and 11, the United States reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds and 1 in poultry in Florida and other places, with 2 wild birds infected and 45 poultry infected and killed.
24. One outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5 subtype in wild birds occurred in Sweden
On 8 March, Sweden reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5 subtype in wild birds in its exclusive economic zone, and one wild bird was infected and died.

On 11 March, Romania reported two outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds in Bacau County, and three wild birds were infected and died.

On March 12, Argentina reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5 subtype in wild mammals at the Antarctic base "Primavera", and one wild Antarctic skunk was infected and died.
28. One outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in poultry occurred in Bulgaria
On March 13, Bulgaria reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in poultry in Pazarjik County, in which several poultry were infected and died, and 13,000 were culled.
29. There were five outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds and four in poultry in Mexico
On March 13, Mexico reported 5 outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds and 4 cases in poultry in 2 places, including Baja California, with 122 wild birds infected and killed, 302 poultry infected, 282 dead, and 54,000 culled.
30. There were 20 outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N5 subtype in wild birds in Japan
On March 14, Japan reported 20 outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N5 subtype in wild birds in three places, including Iwate Prefecture, and 28 wild birds were infected and died.
31. There were 25 outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds and 1 in poultry in Japan
On March 14 and 15, Japan reported 25 outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza in wild birds and 1 poultry of the H5N1 subtype in 6 places including Niigata Prefecture, with 50 wild birds infected and killed, 15 poultry infected and killed, and 83,000 culled.
32. Two outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds, two in mammals and one in poultry occurred in the United States

On 15 March, Burkina Faso reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in poultry in the Middle East, in which 581 poultry were infected, 441 died and 140 were culled.
34. Four outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds occurred in Germany
On March 15, Germany reported four outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds in three places, including the state of Hamburg, and four wild birds were infected and died.
35. One outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N5 subtype in wild birds occurred in the United Kingdom
On 15 March, the United Kingdom reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N5 subtype in wild birds in Scotland, and one wild bird was infected and died.

On 18 March, Sweden reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5 subtype in poultry in Krunubery province, in which 100 poultry were infected, 20 died and 198 were culled.

On 18 March, Brazil reported two outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds in the state of Rio de Janeiro, in which two wild birds were infected and died.

On 19 March, Romania reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds in Ilfov County, in which nine wild birds were infected and died.
39. Eight outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds occurred in Denmark
On March 19, Denmark reported 8 outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds in 7 places, including the city of Nestvej, and 10 wild birds were infected and died.

On March 22 and 27, the United States reported 2 outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza in wild birds and 2 mammalian H5N1 subtypes in 4 places including Maine, with 20 free-range poultry infected and killed and 9 dairy cows infected.
46. One outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N2 subtype in wild birds occurred in Mexico
On 26 March, Mexico reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N2 subtype in wild birds in the state of Michoacán, in which 117 free-range poultry were infected and killed and three were culled.
47. One outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds occurred in France
On 26 March, France reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype in wild birds in the Loire region of Mann-et-Loire, in which one wild bird was infected and died.

On 28 March, the United Kingdom reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N5 subtype in wild birds in England, and one wild bird was infected and died.
