As an important maritime logistics node in China, Yangshan Port is one of the busiest ports in the world, and it is very important for ships in the port area to arrive safely and on time. In order to ensure the safety supervision and punctual operation and maintenance of ships entering and leaving the port, the Maritime Safety Administration of Yangshan Port of the People's Republic of China and the Shanghai International Shipping Research Center of Shanghai Maritime University jointly developed the "Yangshan Port International Voyage Container Ship Entry and Exit Safety Punctuality Index".
The index is the first of its kind in the global shipping industry, using AIS big data technology to analyze the punctuality of berthing and unberthing operations and accident risk data of Yangshan Port in the past ten years, and constructing a model from the four dimensions of environment, ship, navigation and management, to evaluate the safety of ships entering and leaving the port and the punctuality of berthing and unberthing.
Through in-depth analysis of multi-dimensional data such as the navigation environment in the waters of Yangshan Port, the accuracy of the declaration of the arrival time of ships (punctuality), and the dynamics of ship navigation, the punctuality evaluation index system of navigation safety in and out of Yangshan Port was formed, and the punctuality index of container ships entering and leaving the port for international voyages was compiled and released.
