Dongcheng District has recently started the management of willow flying, and the District Landscaping Bureau, Dongcheng Fire and Rescue Detachment, District Environmental Sanitation Center and other departments have "made moves" to take multiple measures to carry out the management of willow flying, and scientifically and effectively reduce the impact of willow flyings on the lives of citizens.

Water spray humidification and flocculation reduction do not leave dead corners
Willow flocculation is a natural phenomenon of plant seed maturity and cracking, and the reproduction of plants is inseparable from the growth of seeds. The relevant person in charge of the District Landscaping Bureau said: "The trees in the park are all artificially planted, but the growth of the plants themselves, in nature, there is no human help, and the power of the wind needs to be borrowed." Wherever the seeds are blown, they will take root, and the survival regularity of biological diversity is also the embodiment of plant wisdom. ”

Since the start of the willow fly control work in Dongcheng District, from 10 o'clock to 16 o'clock every day, the district landscaping bureau has carried out high-pressure water spraying operations on the canopy of willow trees in concentrated distribution areas.
In view of the willow flying in key places such as bungalow courtyards and old communities, the Dongcheng Fire and Rescue Detachment uses fire water guns, fire pumps and other facilities to carry out centralized humidification treatment in the form of water spraying and sprinkling on fire passages, front and back of houses, and flammable points in the jurisdiction.
According to the relevant person in charge of the Dongcheng Fire and Rescue Detachment, in the process of humidification, the fire and rescue personnel strictly control the water pressure to avoid affecting the surrounding residential areas and pedestrians, and use the "flowering" water gun to spray the willow catkins, grass and bushes, and at the same time ensure that the road surface does not contain stagnant water, does not damage trees and vegetation, and ensures that the humidification work is carried out in all directions and without leaving dead ends.
Source control reduces the total amount of flying
After injection of plant growth inhibitors in female willow trees, the flower bud production of female plants can be inhibited and fly flocculation can be reduced. This year, Dongcheng District injected plant growth inhibitors into more than 3,000 female willow trees in key areas such as parks, main ring roads, and key blocks.
In terms of source control, the District Landscaping Bureau has carried out tree species transformation of the existing female willow trees in its jurisdiction, and reduced the total amount of fly floc by grafting male branches at a high level, pruning the crown of female plants, and gradually renewing old and weak female plants.
The relevant person in charge of the District Landscaping Bureau said: "We have grafted and controlled 27 female willow trees in Qingnian Lake Park and Nanguan Park, blocking the source of flying flocculents. For newly planted and nursery-bred seedlings in our jurisdiction, we also use all male plants. After years of continuous management, the situation of flying flotsam in Dongcheng District has been significantly improved. ”
Flying's "governance + publicity" mobilization
According to the relevant person in charge of the Dongcheng Fire and Rescue Detachment, the willow fly is scattered everywhere and attached to the surface of combustibles, and if it is not cleaned and controlled in time, it is very easy to burn in case of fire. Factors such as foreign open flames, leftover fires, artificial ignition, and littering of cigarette butts can ignite catkins. According to the experiment, 10 square meters of willow fly flocculent burned out in 2 seconds when exposed to open flames.
In the past few days, various departments in Dongcheng District have worked together to actively promote grassroots organizations and units such as local streets, communities, building property rights units, management units, and property service enterprises to work together to do a good job in the wetting of willow catkins and strictly prevent the occurrence of poplar willow fly fire accidents.
At the same time, the Dongcheng Fire and Rescue Detachment also increased the publicity of the fire risk of willow flying, urged social units and street communities to carry out fire safety self-inspection and self-correction, included the cleaning and wetting of willow flying, and strengthened on-duty patrols and inspections to effectively inhibit the floating and accumulation of willow flying.
During the treatment of willow fly floc, the Dongcheng District Environmental Sanitation Center will continue to adopt a combination of manual and mechanical operations, clean the accumulated fly floc on the road in a timely manner every day, and cooperate with mechanical floor washing and scouring operations to strengthen road humidification.
