Recently, the Wenzhou Lucheng police successfully captured the fugitive who had been absconding for 23 years after unremitting pursuit of the murderer.
After investigation, the suspect Li, a native of Deyang, Sichuan, conspired with others to kill two people in Wenzhou and Ningbo in a cruel way in 2001, and his accomplice was arrested shortly after the incident, but Li has disappeared. Over the past 23 years, the Lucheng police have never given up or stopped investigating the backlog of murder cases.
Li confessed that after the incident, he fled to Sichuan and Hunan, where he picked up an ID card named Liu, so he used Liu's identity to study at a Buddhist college. In 2008, Li fled to Jieyang, Guangdong, and lived in a local temple as Liu.
Relying on a fake identity, Li hid from the world and even became the abbot of the temple all the way. However, Li claimed to be a "monk" and lived privately with a woman as husband and wife, and also had a son and a daughter.
In order to avoid the investigation of the public security organs, Li went out to disguise himself, and even installed surveillance around the temple. Li has been incognito for 23 years, cutting off all contact with relatives in his hometown, before the police found him, Li was preparing to pack his luggage and leave Guangdong to flee to Tibet, but the legal net was restored, negligent but not leaky, Li was finally arrested by the police.
On April 3, the Lucheng police escorted Li back to Wenzhou after 9 hours across three provinces, and the two 23-year-old homicide cases in Wenzhou and Ningbo were successfully solved.
