As the saying goes: "The old legs of people grow old first, and the old roots of trees wither first." ”
As they get older, many people's legs begin to feel uncomfortable, and they want to take a walk, and before they can walk for a while, their joints "protest" first.

The 73-year-old uncle was suffering from arthritis in his knees
The doctor said that it can be treated without changing the joint
73-year-old Uncle Zheng, who has been uncomfortable in his right knee joint for two years, has now begun to limp when walking, and his joints have been deformed. The family said that he should have a joint replacement, but Uncle Zheng has always resisted.
Seeing her father's constant suffering, her daughter took him to Zhou Rong, chief physician of the Anesthesia and Surgery Center of Hangzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and asked if there was a way to alleviate the pain without joint replacement.
Dr. Zhou's examination found that the pain score was 7 points, which seriously affected daily activities, and the effect of previous medical treatment, electrical stimulation, acupuncture and other physical therapy was not obvious, and imaging showed degenerative knee osteoarthritis.
After research, Dr. Zhou performed intra-articular oxygen injection and radiofrequency therapy for the sensory nerve around the knee joint for the patient. At the follow-up visit, Uncle Zheng walked normally, and his pain score was reduced to 2 points, and he recovered well.

What is degenerative knee osteoarthritis?
The harm is more than just pain
Dr Chow explained that knee osteoarthritis, also known as degenerative knee arthritis (KOA), is characterized by degeneration and destruction of articular cartilage and periarticular bone hyperplasia. It is a chronic disabling disease characterized by multietiology, total joints.
Knee osteoarthritis is not just about pain and reduced mobility, it is also harmful:
Hazards of limited mobility: Slowed blood flow, blood clots, muscle atrophy, poor nutrient reserves, and weakened immune system leading to various diseases and infections.
Decline in social and family skills: The reduction of social contact due to limited mobility accelerates the deterioration of brain function, which in turn leads to the decline of memory and cognitive function.
Knee osteoarthritis is very harmful, and surgery is also risky, so conservative treatment should be chosen as soon as possible.

What if you don't want surgery?
At present, the mainstream non-surgical treatments are as follows:
physiotherapy
Shockwave therapy, heat therapy, photophysiotherapy, electrical stimulation therapy, acupuncture, acupuncture, massage and other traditional treatments.
drug therapy
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, glucosamine drugs, joint drug injections, etc.
Note: It needs to be prescribed by a specialist and follow the doctor's instructions for treatment, and taking or stopping the drug without authorization will affect the treatment effect.
Minimally invasive treatment
Such as joint trioxygen injection, joint autologous blood injection, minimally invasive radiofrequency modulation of peripheral articular nerves, and denervation therapy around the knee joint.
