There has been a series of shocking knife attacks in Sydney in recent days, one of which occurred during a sermon at Wakeley Church, where a bishop was attacked.
According to a live video broadcast on April 15, the footage of the suspect stabbing Bishop Mari Emanuel was terrifying. Just days earlier, the city had experienced a horrific knife attack on a mall that killed six people.
The attack on the Wakeley church, which left four people injured, further exacerbated panic and unrest within the community. The victims included men across different age groups, all of whom were injured from their scratches, with one man in his 50s being rushed to Liverpool Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, it was reported that the victim's injuries were not life-threatening.
Even as these recent violent incidents unfold, people still recall with lingering memories of the horrors of the mall massacre. In that attack, Joel Cauchi raged with a knife and claimed six lives, most of the victims were women. The attack caused a huge shock not only in Sydney, but also around the world.
The devastating effects of mall attacks were heightened by the revelation of the victims' identities. Among those killed was Ashley Goode, whose daughter Harriet underwent surgery after the attack and is now in better condition.
