The foreign gods changed the PS1 to a handheld with a battery life of up to 2.5 hours

A great god has transformed his PS1 console into a usable handheld. YveltalGriffin shared his creations on BitBuilt, a forum that likes to create something new with old consoles.

Named PS Hanami by YveltalGriffin, the handheld is made from PlayStation hardware, not an emulator.

YveltalGriffin describes it as "an old-fashioned portable device with a lot of hot melt glue on it," and he says the handheld is about 7 inches long and comes with a built-in battery that can run for about 2.5 hours on a single charge.

To fit the PS1 hardware into such a small device, he took an original PS1 motherboard, cut it in half, folded it, and rewired it.

Because it could no longer run discs, they also replaced the disc drive with a Disc Drive Emulator (ODE) called Xstation, which allowed them to run PlayStation disc mirroring from SD cards.

This handheld device also integrates a DualShock controller, but only with a vibration function – without a joystick.

Despite the impressive technical achievements, Yveltal Griffin stressed that there were still many problems with their creation.

PS Hanami doesn't have volume control, its power button is "not very good" and shuts down if you touch it, and there is no radiator, so it "gets hot after a while" when it runs.
