In order to further implement the "Implementation Plan for the Year of Maternal and Infant Safety and Quality Improvement in Xuzhou City", strengthen the ideological understanding of medical personnel on the rescue of critically ill pregnant women, standardize the call for help, operation and rescue procedures of high-risk pregnant women, ensure that high-risk and critically ill pregnant women and newborns receive timely, accurate and effective medical treatment, and effectively reduce maternal mortality and neonatal mortality, on April 8, 2024, Zhu Jinming, director of the obstetrics department of Xuzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital, Liu Songlin, director of the Department of Neonatology, was invited to participate in the emergency drill for the treatment of critically ill pregnant women in Jiawang District and gave on-site guidance.
The main members of the obstetrics and safety offices of the midwifery institutions in the jurisdiction, the leaders in charge, the chief of the medical department, the director of the obstetrics and gynecology department, the head nurse of the obstetrics department and other relevant personnel observed the drill on site.
The drill simulated the real case scenario, and rehearsed the procedures of diagnosis, rescue, reporting, and coordination of postpartum hemorrhage through the opening of the green channel, the activation of the rescue plan, and the connection between various links. The drill script is designed based on the prototype of postpartum hemorrhage cases, and the drill content simulates the entire emergency process from the Biantang Town Central Health Center to the District People's Hospital, that is, the emergency department of the District Critical Maternal Treatment Center, from reception, assessment, examination to surgery. During the exercise, the medical staff cooperated efficiently and fluently, responded quickly, the first-line and second-line doctors and midwives had a clear division of labor and tacit cooperation, and the nurses implemented the doctor's instructions quickly, mastered the treatment process skillfully, and had a strong sense of rescue, and successfully completed the rescue.
After the drill, Director Zhu Jinming and Director Liu Songlin fully affirmed the drill, summarized and analyzed the drill process, and put forward suggestions for improvement.
Time is life, and drills are actual combat! Every rescue is a reverence for life! Every drill adds a guarantee to the safety of mothers and infants! Through this drill, the professional quality of obstetrics and pediatrics professionals in midwifery medical institutions has been tested, as well as their ability in emergency response, comprehensive coordination, on-site treatment, etc., and the referral and treatment process of critically ill pregnant women has been further improved, laying a good foundation for ensuring the safety of mothers and babies and promoting the work of maternal and child health services to a new level!
