The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force has been in the spotlight. According to public information, the current strength of the Maritime Self-Defense Force is about 44,000, and the ratio of officers, non-commissioned officers and enlisted men is 1:2.7:2.4, of which the role of officers is crucial.
The Maritime Self-Defense Force has seven "quasi-aircraft carriers", including the 14,000-ton Osumi-class amphibious landing ship, the 17,000-ton Hyuga-class amphibious landing ship, and the 27,000-ton Izumo-class aircraft carrier. Of particular note is the fact that the Izumo-class aircraft carrier is planned to be converted into a general-purpose aircraft carrier capable of carrying F-35B fighters, which will greatly enhance the combat capability of the Maritime Self-Defense Force.
In addition, the Maritime Self-Defense Force has 36 destroyers, 22 top-class frigates, and 11 pro-tide-class submarines. Especially when it comes to submarines, Japan's conventional submarines are not even inferior to other countries in terms of performance.
