In response, Fumio Kishida gave two "surprises" to the outside world when he delivered a speech in Congress: First, he spoke fluent American English throughout his speech, and his pronunciation was very standard, apparently fully prepared for this. Second, in his speech, he deliberately declared that he wanted to "be with the United States." The implication is that Japan will firmly follow the direction of the United States, and the United States will attack Japan wherever it directs. The main reason why the military cooperation agreement reached by the United States and Japan this time has attracted great attention from the outside world is that the content of the relevant agreement has been changed, or it is clearly disclosed to the target.
According to the contents of the agreement, the Japanese Self-Defense Forces will be incorporated into the command and management system of the US forces stationed in Japan in the future, and the two sides will set up a "unified and cooperative operations command," which means that the US military can not only command the combat forces of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces during the exercise and training, but also "directly bypass" the Ministry of Defense when an emergency situation arises, send combat orders to the command department of the Self-Defense Forces, and mobilize them to cooperate with the US military's actions. On the one hand, Japan's Self-Defense Forces will completely "lose their independence" and become vassals of the US military. On the other hand, as long as the United States participates in any battle, Japan must cooperate unconditionally and obligatorily, which is tantamount to forcibly dragging Japan into the water. In addition, the United States and Japan will also cooperate closely on missile research and development and production projects, including the establishment of a missile defense system to ensure that the "offensive and defensive integration" standard can be achieved in a short period of time, and the ability to deal with a major power war that may arise at any time.
However, in the eyes of some military experts, the real core content of this US-Japan military cooperation agreement is still aimed at China and Russia. First of all, during the meeting between Fumio Kishida and Biden, the focus of the conversation between the two sides was on the unstable situation in the Indo-Pacific region and the so-called "actions of China". Considering that in the US-Japan military exercise some time ago, the United States and Japan directly set China as an "imaginary enemy", so the United States and Japan will accelerate their encirclement and suppression actions in the Asia-Pacific region. Second, with the implementation of Russia's "Look East" strategy, the United States also realized the need to establish a new blockade and encirclement in the Asia-Pacific region to guard against Russia's "expansion actions" from the Far East and to firmly confine Russia to a confined area. Finally, the recent series of cooperation and exchanges between China and Russia have made the United States particularly jealous. In particular, during his recent visit to China, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a dialogue on cooperation and exchanges in various fields, and the two sides agreed to jointly respond to external threats and safeguard each other's interests. Against this backdrop, the United States needs to join forces with Japan to launch a new offensive operation to turn the Asia-Pacific game into a two-on-two situation.
A few days ago, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko warned that the "dangerous trend" of military cooperation between Japan and the United States is posing a threat to the stability and security of Northeast Asia, and that bilateral relations between Russia and Japan have fallen to an "unprecedented low." In fact, this warning is a reminder to Japan that if Russia is really pushed into a hurry, then the consequences are not something that Japan can bear. As for the military cooperation plan that Biden and Fumio Kishida are looking forward to, there is a high probability that it will not achieve the expected results, not only because the US election is full of more uncertainties, but more importantly, this erroneous act of undermining the peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region will inevitably be opposed and criticized by other countries.
