It was shocking to learn that Mr. Yan Wenming, a famous archaeologist, passed away in Beijing on April 14, 2024, at the age of 92. I hereby warn and mourn!
Yan Wenming, born in 1932, graduated from Peking University in 1958, and was a doctoral supervisor in archaeology at the School of Archaeology and Museums of Peking University, engaged in research on Chinese Neolithic archaeology and the origin of Chinese civilization. In December 2023, he was awarded the "Lifetime Achievement Award" by the "Fifth World Archaeological Forum".
