Seal carving is a traditional handicraft and one of China's unique art forms, which has been included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. On the 14th, the "Saddle Bo Research" seal carving experience of the "Falling in Love with the Museum" series of activities hosted by the Municipal Cultural Tourism Center and undertaken by the Municipal Museum was held in the Municipal Museum.
At the scene, Ding Feng, director of the Municipal Calligraphers Association, vice president of the Qianshan Seal Society, and vice chairman of the Municipal Young Artists Association, gave a detailed explanation of the history of seal carving and its development, and the young participants listened with relish.
First of all, the seal stone is smoothed, and the seal word mirror is written on the seal stone, and then different knife methods are used to carve the seal...... On the same day, Ding Feng also gave a detailed introduction to the tools needed for seal carving and each step in the seal carving process.
Afterwards, the children experienced the process of making seals together. During the participation, everyone experienced the breadth and profundity of Chinese culture, further understood this ancient traditional art form integrating calligraphy, sculpture, literature and history, and felt the beauty of Chinese characters presented on jade up close.
