Fans of Hollow Knight: Song of Silk have been living like a year, and now they are ready to be disappointed every time there is new news. The highly anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed Metroidvania game hasn't had much news since its announcement, aside from a scarce teaser.
Triple-I is an indie game focused "Indie E3" show held by the developers of the well-known indie game series "Slay the Spire", "Dead Cells" and other games. As one of the hottest indie games in recent years, fans of "Song of Silk" were full of anticipation for new content before the live broadcast of the show began. And when some teasers for the start of the countdown appeared, fans went into a frenzy.
Some text similar to loading screen prompts was displayed on the screen during the countdown to the start of the stream, and one of them read: "What's the name of that much-anticipated Metroidvania game with insects in it? This time, the community not only watched step by step as they painted themselves in the familiar clown costume again, but also went one step further to become "Joker" played by Uncle Phoenix, completely giving up rationality and binge-brushing the abbreviation "SKONG" of "Song of Silk" under the official Triple-I account on social media.
This isn't the first time fans of the game have been "clowned", as a "small team from Australia" was mentioned at the 2023 TGA Game Awards, which quickly dashed their hopes.
