On the afternoon of April 12, the 2024 Wuzhishan City's 2nd "Tonglin Holiday • Laozhou Cup" football match and the 8th China Staff Football League Hainan Grassroots Tournament kicked off, and 24 teams will play against more than 50 games in the next two months to compete for the final championship glory. Chen Guoliang, Deputy Secretary of the Wuzhishan Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of the Municipal Government, Dai Luqiang, Executive Vice Chairman of the China Enterprise Sports Association, Shen Xiangfu, a famous Chinese football legend and Chairman of the Football Committee of the China Enterprise Sports Association, Li Bin, Director of the Athletic and Sports Division of the Hainan Provincial Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, and leaders and guests at all levels attended the opening ceremony to unveil this Hainan football event.
The competition attracted 24 teams from cities and counties in Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan provinces, with nearly 1,000 coaches and athletes. The competition is divided into two stages: group stage and knockout stage to determine the rankings, with a total prize fund of 242,000 yuan. More than 50 matches of the tournament will be played at the Affiliated Middle School of Tropical Ocean College and Nongken Experimental Middle School in Wuzhishan City, and fans and spectators can watch it for free, and at the same time, the event will be broadcast live online. In addition to the intense and fierce green showdown, the organizers also carefully planned a series of surrounding cultural and tourism activities related to the event, which greatly promoted the integrated development of culture, sports and tourism.
At the opening ceremony, the drumming performance of "Love My China" shook the sky, injecting a strong sense of family and country into the football game; the song and dance performance of "Splendid Li Miao" brought the audience into the unique Li Miao style picture of Wuzhishan City, allowing people to appreciate the profound heritage and unique charm of Hainan's ethnic minority culture; in the lion dance performance of "Dragon and Tiger Leap", the four powerful and agile "lions" moved vigorously and naturally, indicating that the wonderful ball game was about to be staged.
After the opening ceremony, the Wuzhishan City team and the Zibo home team of the China Championship team played an exhibition match, and the wonderful duel between the two sides ignited the enthusiasm of the audience and laid a fierce and friendly tone for the whole event.
It is worth mentioning that the design of the trophy unveiled at the opening ceremony is ingenious, and the main body of the trophy is the auspicious clouds of Wuzhishan, which holds up and surrounds the football, which fully reflects Wuzhishan City's insistence on cultural and plastic tourism, tourism and culture, and constantly stimulates the new vitality of the integrated development of culture, sports and tourism, and symbolizes the core concept of passion, unity and enthusiasm of the "Old State Cup". The image of Hercules, the Li element, is cleverly integrated into the base of the trophy, and the muscular Hercules with firm eyes takes firm steps towards the future, implying the strength and determination of the "Laozhou Capital" brand event, and inspiring people's faith and courage to pursue their dreams and move forward bravely.
Chen Guoliang introduced that in recent years, Wuzhishan City has always focused on the development of building a "sports tourism demonstration zone", and has demonstrated Wuzhishan's unique sports tourism resources through a series of sports events such as the "Laozhou Cup" Football Invitational Tournament, the International Egg Breaking Classic, the China Free Fighting Club Super League, and the 14th Round-the-Island Bicycle Race. The series of sports events (activities) further enhanced the city image of Wuzhishan and highlighted the broad prospects of Wuzhishan for the development of sports tourism industry.
