How the meaning used in Tai Chi works

author:Shinchiki

The meaning used in Taijiquan is that its three-dimensional route is also the Taiji diagram, much like the joint seam on a steel ball or baseball. At the same time, there is a circle in every movement of Tai Chi. In this circle, it is necessary to distinguish between the virtual and the real, so the "meaning" must also become a circle when it moves, and this circle is based on Wang Zongyue's saying: "There must be folds and folds in reciprocation, and there must be changes in advance and retreat", which has formed the unique characteristics of Taijiquan through practice. The top view is as follows: the S-shaped U-turn in the middle of the circle, that is, the so-called folding, and the small circle on the circumference of the circle is the conversion place. In fact, the number of conversion circles is not necessarily.

The so-called route of the mind is the route of the bobhead, which can be seen from the top view. At each moment, the bob head has different degrees of propulsion on three aspects: up or down, left or right, front or back. This impetus is then transmitted to the corresponding qi vein, so that this qi vein also reflects the virtual and real changes similar to this route. These changes in the void and reality are reflected in the flesh and bones through countless veins. Since the flexibility of the mind is endless, and there is nothing more than anything to match, there is no real need for it, and you can no longer make any improvements in the dynamics of the virtual and real changes. However, if it is one step further, it will simply cancel the intended instigation. Lao Tzu said, "Return to nature" is this realm.

To sum up, the preliminary exercise on the virtual and the real is actually a matter of shifting the center of gravity. In the intermediate stage, the void and reality begin to be combined with the qi, that is, it becomes a problem of the transfer of the middle qi; in the advanced stage, the center of gravity and qi can almost be balanced, but the mind and energy are separated. In the end, it is the highest to have one's own virtual reality regardless of the virtual and the real. As for the human mind, of course, it may be infinitely more flexible than the electromagnetic reaction, and in fact, no artificial adjustment device can catch up. The problem is just how to gradually keep up with the adjusted qi and flesh and bones.

How the meaning used in Tai Chi works

The change of the dimension from the left to the right

A screw turns right and lowers it, and turns left and it rises, which is left up and right down. Why do screws look like this? Because most people do things with their right hands, and when the right hand turns like this, it feels smooth and effective. In fact, there are a few people who have been holding chopsticks with their left hand since they were young, and even kicking a ball with their left foot. Actually, this is not entirely a habit, it is mainly due to the different effects of the central qi in the human body when it rotates to the left or right. When men turn right, they are open, and when they turn left, they are combined, and women are vice versa. The use of the left hand and the left foot is still a minority. This kind of rule, everyone can simply test to prove, in addition to turning the screw, you can also use the left hand or the right hand, repeatedly pull back and punch out, you can understand which hand is stronger.

This is the direction of rotation of the middle air, which has an absolute decisive effect on the nature of the force, that is, there is an absolute relationship between the left and right on the rise and fall, rather than a relative relationship. However, ordinary people may not be able to feel the activity of Zhongqi, so it is difficult to understand it for a while. From ancient Chinese books on medical treatment or qigong, you can see that "men are left and women are right", "men turn left, women turn right" and so on. Although this law has been discovered long ago, and so clearly documented, it has remained almost obscure because only a few people have noticed it, and only a few have been able to verify it from themselves. If you want to teach someone to recognize this law, it is best to ask him to practice kung fu by himself, and when he has practiced to a certain level, he will naturally understand it without any explanation. It is precisely because it is easy for ordinary people to regard the activities of the left and right as completely relative, so this law is particularly important in the practice of Kung Fu, and it is necessary to understand it.

  When the middle qi rotates to the left or right in the dantian, why does it exhibit different effects? This is due to the effect of the yin and yang veins that dominate the left and right sides of the body. The reason why it is called Tamai is because it has a distinctive feature. For example, when the middle qi turns forward, it will have a role in pushing the Ren pulse in front, and when the middle qi turns backward, it will have an effect on the Du pulse in the back. But for Jimai, the situation is different. For men, when Zhongqi turns to the right, it does not have a driving force on the right yin and yang pulses, but according to the natural law of the central qi itself, which rises and falls from the left to the right, as well as the characteristics of the yin rising and falling of the yang, it only promotes the yang in it;

In the same way, when the middle qi turns to the left, it not only pushes the left yin, but also has a driving force on the right yin (the above situation can only be consciously and completely done when practicing boxing to the advanced stage; in the initial stage, the zhongqi cannot consciously rotate in the dantian, and even if it has a little effect, it is only spontaneous like ordinary people; at the beginning of the middle layer, the zhongqi is only shaking, one side is solid, and the other side is empty, that is, there is an emptiness, and there is no effect). The promotion effect of the yang vein makes the yang veins of the hands and feet become solid and the yin veins become empty, and it becomes a process of opening or accumulating, and the promotion of the yin veins makes the yin veins become solid and the yang veins become empty, and it becomes a process of merging or developing.

While practicing boxing, of course, there is also the role of opening and closing the two pulses of Ren Du. As for the role of the vein, which is close to parallel to the Jimai, I can explain it a little here. Maintain, maintain the meaning of harmony. For example, in the process of opening or closing, there are often two or three transitions or fluctuations. Because Weimai is born with a "damping" effect, when the "air pressure" surges, it plays a throttling role, and when it declines, it plays a hysteresis effect, which makes it able to flatten the fluctuation, and the use of energy is balanced, much like the role of filter capacitance in the electrical circuit. Although Zhongqi also has a direct connection with Weimai, Weimai still works as an assistant to Jimai. The opening and closing of qi is very similar to that of a balloon, when it opens, it "supports the eight sides" like the bulge of the ball, and has the effect of absorbing the outside; when the "monopoly side" is like the deflation of the balloon, it has the effect of impacting the outside, which is the principle of "introducing the void and closing it out" in martial arts.

In the coordination of this law, there is one main problem, that is, all the left and right void and reality in the movements of the frame often have to contradict this law for the relationship between the accumulation of hair; on the other hand, due to the limitation of the degree of qi training, in order to consciously make use of this law, we must wait until the final stage of "dantian qi turning", and to give full play to this law, we must wait until the pulse is opened up and circulating. We are still discussing this issue of coordination according to the three procedures of Qi training.

The first step is the stage of "refining and refining qi". In terms of qi, what is practiced is the upward and downward lifting and release of the Ren pulse, which is not far from the rotation of the dantian, and there is no question of the Dantian initiating the Qiao pulse. In terms of virtual and real, it is mainly a matter of shifting the center of gravity at this time. The shift of the center of gravity can only be based on the needs of the shelf, not according to the law of "left and right ups and downs", if it is necessary to practice according to the law of "left up and right down", sometimes it is not possible to use the shift of the center of gravity to change the virtual reality.

The second step is the stage of "practicing qi and transforming gods". In terms of qi, what is practiced is the circulation of the Ren Du pulse and the shaking of the dantian. Among them, the left and right shaking of the dantian will have a greater promoting effect on the Qiao pulse, but this effect can only lay the foundation for opening up the Qiao and Wei pulse, and cannot make the Qiao pulse play a normal role. For example, when the middle qi is shaking to the right, the effect is obviously different from turning right and opening up. When the right is dangling, the right is real and the left is empty, and the yin and yang veins on the right will all be full, and the left side will become all void, which obviously cannot achieve the effect of opening. In terms of the virtual and the real, it is mainly divided by the shaking of this qi, and the contradiction caused by the law of "rising from the left and falling from the right" is also similar to that of the first stage.

If one side is all solid and the other side is empty, and it is 100% shaky, then it can be said that it has no effect on the transition from side to side. Actually, it doesn't end there. When the transition from the second step to the third step, the dantian qi can be turned, which begins to open up the circulation of the Qiao vein, and give full play to its characteristics of "yin and yang", so as to mainly rely on the pulse to carry out the body with qi, which can gradually cause the activities of the left and right, front and back, and no longer the activities of the left and right, the front and back. Thus, it is possible to ensure impartiality in the change of virtual and real.

The third step is the stage of "practicing the gods and returning them to the void". In terms of qi, all qi veins, including the Qiao vein, have gradually gone into circulation, and the dantian qi can also gradually turn into a three-dimensional Taiji diagram route. During this phase, when the dantian qi turns to the right, downward, and backward, it has a beneficial effect on the yang qi veins that also go downward. At the same time, when turning backwards, although there is a downward trend, due to the blockage between the tails, the effect of suction and extraction is carried out, but when it is upward, the pulse plays a driving role, so the whole body is opened. When the dantian qi turns to the left, upward, and forward, it has a helping effect on the yang qi that goes up on the side, and when it turns to the front, although there is an upward trend, because the hands and feet are strong, the qi is up and yin, and the effect of breathing is added, so the pulse qi still falls to the dantian, and the whole body is caused to merge. In addition, the dantian qi itself also has the characteristic of "right opening and left closing", which has also become one of the main reasons for promoting the Du pulse and attracting the Ren pulse.

The relationship and role of tension and relaxation

Wang Zongyue said in his fist theory: "Strength is like a bow, and strength is like an arrow. "The so-called accumulation and strength are one piece and one relaxation. The word Zhang Chi is from the side of "bow", which can be seen to be the meaning of opening the bow and shooting arrows.

The "one opening and one closing" mentioned in Taijiquan is one piece and one relaxation. When it comes to opening and closing, you must understand the meaning and qi, and if you only look at it from the outside of the body, it will inevitably cause misunderstanding. For example, the "bow", its opening and closing, a relaxation is consistent, the shape of the opening and closing, the internal force is just a relaxation, so according to the shape can be distinguished. But for people, it is more complicated than the "bow", the shape is open and closed, and the internal force is relaxed, so it is not necessarily consistent. The relaxation of the human body is not based on the appearance, but mainly based on the middle qi or strength. Jin and Qi are inseparable, where Qi is, where Qi is, Jin is there. When you breathe in and out or charge a shot during boxing, the middle qi opens and closes, and the body relaxes. Therefore, when accumulating strength, regardless of the body shape opening and closing, it is called opening strength, and in the same way, hair strength is also called joint strength. When it is opened, it is like being separated from the void, and the outside is real and the inside is empty; when it is closed, it is like being full in the middle of the road, and the outside is empty and the inside is real. The inner fist is on the top, not the outside, so the opening and closing does not say the relaxation, if according to the will, the opening and closing and the relaxation are also consistent. But when you first learn boxing, it is impossible to combine qi immediately, but you can only engage in body movement first, it is difficult to separate the opening and closing, and the relaxation is easy to understand, so it is better to talk about the problem of relaxation first. Some people ask if "letting go" doesn't mean relaxing the whole body? Why do we have to relax one by one? First of all, let's talk about the issue of relaxation, just imagine what other possibilities there are after the whole body is relaxed, except to lie down on the spot? Since boxing is a kind of exercise, it is necessary to relax one by one, or to say that one is tight and one is loose, and if it is not tight, it is necessary to lie down, and if it is not tight, it is necessary to freeze.

Second, this sentence is said when explaining the main point of "intention is not forced", so in order to understand this sentence thoroughly, it is necessary to comprehensively study the interpretation of "intention is not forceful" so as not to misunderstand. It is not difficult to see that the purpose of loosening the whole body is to "not have the slightest clumsiness", so that "light and agile changes, circle and turn freely" and "where the intention goes, the qi is the most extreme", so as to obtain the real internal strength of "like cotton wrapped in iron, the weight is extremely heavy". It can be seen that the whole body is loosened is the general requirement of a relaxation, and relaxation is only a "relaxation". In fact, if you are not relaxed, you will have the consequence of weakness. The "bow" must be wound first when it is used, which is the same in boxing, it must be "wound", and it cannot be relaxed as much as possible, otherwise there will be no elasticity. Those who advocate total relaxation are obviously mistaken, and the practice is the opposite, not only is it not winding, but it may be greatly relaxed, as long as it is still standing. This kind of practice of not stretching enough and relaxing too much can only create a soft bow at most, and only in part of the range will it have the elasticity of the bow.

Boxing on the clouds, "Qi is directly nourished and harmless, and strength is more than enough to be accumulated", which is the correct requirement. This practice is the opposite of the relaxed practice, but it requires continuous improvement of strength and strive to make a strong bow and crossbow. Therefore, take a positive attitude in Zhang's aspect, as long as the flexibility is enough, try to open it well. When stretching and relaxing, you must pay attention to it, and you must leave some strength, because when you relax too much, your body will be scattered. Of course, it is also necessary to develop in terms of relaxation in order to expand adaptability. The focus should still be on Zhang's aspect.

Zhang's magnitude is an important issue. According to the above opinion, it is mainly the amplitude of the force, not just the amplitude of the distance. Taking the bow as an example, when its relaxation amplitude is the largest, the arrow is also the farthest, but this amplitude is inevitably limited at both ends of the tension and relaxation, and it will break when it reaches a certain extent, and it will be scattered when it reaches a certain extent, so this amplitude is also limited to the middle of the fracture and scattering. In this question, whether it is tension or relaxation, the distribution of force in the bow body has a general characteristic - uniform, that is, at every moment, the tension force of any point in the bow body is equal, and the increase and decrease rate of each point of tension in the whole bow body in the process of relaxation is also equal. The tension is uniform in both space and time, and this is the common denominator of elastic objects. On the other hand, if you want to maintain flexibility, you must pay attention to the issue of "uniformity". Of course, practicing boxing is much more complicated than shooting a bow and arrow, but in fact it can be understood by the same concept. Therefore, in order to achieve the desired effect, the fist must strive to have the maximum amplitude of tension and relaxation under uniform conditions.

Speaking of which, let's combine the principle of "the greatest extent under the condition of uniformity" with the practice of boxing. Suppose that a fixed bow has a fixed uniformity and amplitude, so that its strength (i.e., maximum tension) is fixed, either hard or soft. But for a fixed person, his uniformity and amplitude can be varied, and the basic purpose of practicing boxing is to improve the degree of uniformity, so as to become a bow that can be hard and soft. So, in the practice of boxing, should we seek uniformity or large scale first? This will vary from person to person. For example, if the young person has good physical elasticity, he can practice more range, and the older and those who are weak may wish to practice evenly, and then steadily increase the range in a more uniform situation. In fact, in the development of anything, uniformity is only a temporary phenomenon (uniformity under certain conditions), not a regular phenomenon, and practicing boxing is certainly no exception. The ultimate goal of increasing the magnitude of the balance of power and achieving the balance of power is to achieve the balance of power.

The difference between strength and force

The "evenness" mentioned above is the supreme principle of the world. It can be used as a note on "internal strength". Scientists in the laboratory have treated metals such as steel to make their structure more homogeneous, and their strength can increase to hundreds or even more than a thousand times. Or when a loose substance such as table salt is cooled to near absolute zero, so that its structure becomes homogeneous, and its strength can be close to that of steel. Therefore, from the perspective of scientific experiments, the strength of Taijiquan is not an exaggeration.

Outer and inner boxing have one essential thing in common, that is, both types of boxing move in one sheet and one relaxation. But there is also an essential difference, that is, the inner family takes Zhang as the accumulation and relaxation as the hair, that is, the so-called "accumulation of strength is like a bow, and strength is like an arrow". The foreign boxing is "to relax for the accumulation, to Zhang for the hair", just the opposite.

In short, no matter what kind of movement, it is absolutely impossible to detach from the law of one relaxation. Moreover, according to the natural laws of the human body, it always inhales when it is open and exhales when it is relaxed. In order to make it easier for us to illustrate the problem, we call all the force that cooperates with the breath and the unity of the whole body as strength, and the exhalation is the internal strength when relaxing. There is no internal strength and external strength, the key question is just which kind of force is working. Those who use internal strength as strength are called internal boxing, and those who use external strength as strength are called external boxing. Therefore, internal boxing is not only internal strength, but only internal strength. Waijiaquan is the opposite.

According to the above principle, we refer to the force that does not cooperate with the breath or does not use uniform force directly. It makes people's movements uncoordinated, or makes the forces of various parts contain and cancel each other, so that the efficiency of the movement is of course very poor.

For example, when lifting weights, beginners generally hold their breath and lift up, which is not only strenuous and unpleasant, but even sprained.

The average person's exertion in childhood is quite coordinated, that is, the so-called rectification, and after gradually growing up, it is not easy to change it in the future when it develops a local force habit in labor or sports. In boxing, the reason why it is necessary to "deliberately do not use force" is to prevent the local clumsy force of this conditioned reflex, rather than absolutely not to use force. Therefore, when it comes to exertion, it is necessary to overcome the habit of local exertion, which is not easy.

According to the external strength or internal strength itself, they are all combined with the force of breathing, which is considered strength, and it is impossible to distinguish any advantages and disadvantages from each other. However, if you look at it in conjunction with the specific purpose of a certain sport, you can compare the advantages and disadvantages. For example, weightlifting, according to the purpose of this kind of exercise, it is obvious that the external strength has an absolute advantage, and if you want to exhale when you lift the stone up, can that work? Of course not. As soon as the whole body is loosened as soon as you exhale, there is a possibility that the stone burden will fall down, so you can't exhale if you force it up, and it is unreasonable to exhale.

Another example is tamping and carting, which must use internal strength. When people are ramming, they always sing the trumpet in order to increase their strength, this is because they always exhale when they are hard, and if they use "stuffy mouth" to tamm, of course, it will be unfortunate. You can also use the concept of physics to explain the rationality of internal strength in martial arts. As mentioned earlier, the so-called internal strength is the way of using relaxation and accumulation of tension. Therefore, in terms of energy transformation, Zhang is the process of energy accumulation, and relaxation is the process of energy release. If a kind of resistance is needed, such as plowing the land, lifting weights, etc., it should play a role in the process of zhang. The increase in energy causes an increase in tension or pressure, so the resistance is overcome and work is done. But if what is needed is a striking force, a driving force, such as striking iron, archery, firing artillery, etc., it should play a role in the relaxation process, and the result of the release of energy will make the hammer, arrow or cannonball get the necessary acceleration. Therefore, in terms of technical attack, using internal strength is like the driving force of firing artillery and archery and the striking force of hitting a hammer. With external strength, there is more of a situation of confrontation or confrontation, and in the end, the one with the greatest strength wins.

The relaxation and accumulation of internal strength is relatively rough at the beginning of practice, that is, the so-called straight and straight, can not last, there are pauses, and bumps and defects will occur on the body. Further, it is necessary to seek straightness in the bend, run in a circle, and although the strength is constantly changing in the process of one relaxation, the speed can still be kept even, and the whole body can always be loosened to meet the principle requirements of Taijiquan. According to the simple concept of physics, it can be known that in various movements, only the circular motion can still maintain a uniform speed under the action of external force changes, and it is precisely because of the centrifugal force and centripetal force of the circular motion that the human body can always remain loose. As for the so-called "four or two dialing a thousand catties" and "static braking" in Taijiquan, it is impossible to give up the circle.

Finally, we said that the main test of whether you know how to practice boxing or not is to face the enemy. The following is a common way to deal with the enemy, and the thickness of the force is explained in order. The thickest is bullfighting, which is basically clumsy. The second is all kinds of wrestling, there have been some changes on the basis of bullfighting, and there are also differences in thickness, if it is hard to knock people down, this is the outer strength is relatively thick; if you can quickly throw people out, the internal strength is relatively fine. Then there is boxing and fencing, which have begun to pay attention to footwork and the use of body weight, but generally still focus on external strength. Then there is Shaolin boxing, its body is dexterous, the fist is heavy, there is no lack of clever people in the past dynasties, but most of them still lack penetration and flow into miscellaneous, so that it is still difficult to go out of the range of "fast hand and slow hand, strong and weak". Therefore, if you want to reach the level of "how can you win with strength, how can you do it quickly", you can only really practice Taijiquan well. Once you have practiced to a fairly delicate level, you will naturally understand that what your predecessors said is true.
