Today (April 12), the 2024 "East China Normal University Strong Foundation Plan" was released. From April 12, 2024 to April 28, 2024 at 12 o'clock, candidates can log in to the registration system of the Strong Foundation Program (website: https://bm.chsi.com.cn/jcxkzs/sch/10269). Candidates must enter the registration system from June 10 to June 20, 2024 to confirm their participation in the school test. Candidates who confirm that they do not participate in the school test or do not confirm their participation in the school test within the time limit will be deemed to have given up their qualification for the Strong Foundation Program.
This year's enrollment has not changed from last year's majors, and is still concentrated in the basic sciences that serve the major strategic needs of the country, as well as the social sciences and humanities, which are in short supply of national talents. Among them, the majors in the science group are: Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Physics, and Biological Sciences. The liberal arts section majors in philosophy and Chinese language and literature (paleography).
Note: In the provinces that have implemented the "3+1+2" model of the college entrance examination reform, only the preferred history program will be put into the liberal arts group majors. Candidates can only choose one major group, 1-2 majors in the liberal arts group and 1-3 majors in the science group, and choose whether to obey the major adjustment.
It is worth noting that this year, there are changes in the calculation method and test method of the shortlisted results of the school's strong foundation plan.
According to the relevant person in charge, this year, East China Normal University has strengthened the examination of thinking literacy and professional comprehensive ability, on the one hand, the calculation of shortlisted results adopts a single subject weighting method, that is, the arts and science groups are determined by 1.5 times of the Chinese and mathematics college entrance examination scores;
The details of the shortlisted calibration methods are as follows:
Before June 26 (specifically determined according to the time of the college entrance examination results provided by the provincial education examination agency), for the college entrance examination results (excluding the total score of the college entrance examination with any policy bonus points, the same below) reaching the province (autonomous region, Candidates who are confirmed to participate in the school school test will be determined by the school according to no more than 4 times the number of provincial and professional group enrollment plans, and the list of candidates shortlisted for the school school test will be determined according to the shortlisted results from high to low, and the shortlisted results will be the same, and the results of Chinese, mathematics and foreign languages will be compared in turn.
The shortlisted results are calculated as follows:
Science Group: Shortlisted score = college entrance examination score + college entrance examination mathematics single subject score * 0.5
Liberal Arts Group: Shortlisted score = college entrance examination score + college entrance examination Chinese single subject score * 0.5
The test is tentatively scheduled for June 29 to June 30. The test includes 3 tests: written test, interview and physical education test, and the location of the test is Minhang Campus of East China Normal University (No. 500 Dongchuan Road, Shanghai).
Written test: Mathematics is the test subject for the Science group and comprehensive for the Arts group. The maximum score of the written test is 100 points.
Interview: The school organizes experts to conduct many-to-one interviews with students, mainly to examine the students' comprehensive quality, academic aspirations, innovation ability, innovation potential, etc. The interview assessment shall refer to the comprehensive quality file of the student, and shall be carried out by random drawing, and the whole assessment process shall be recorded and videotaped. The maximum score for the interview is 100 points.
Physical Education Test: The physical education test subjects are sitting forward bending and standing long jump, and the test standards refer to the healthy physical fitness standards for high school students. Candidates who participate in the physical education test of our school are required to purchase the "Personal Accident Insurance" during the test period and submit the original insurance documents on the day of the test. If candidates are unable to participate in the physical education test due to physical reasons, they must fill in the "Application Form for Exemption from Physical Education Test" (see Appendix 1), and send the scanned copy of the application form, the scanned copy of the certificate of the third-class hospital, and the scanned copy of the candidate's physical education certificate issued by the middle school to meet the relevant requirements of the Ministry of Education (must be signed and sealed) to the recruitment mailbox of our school, and the scanned copy of the physical education test can be exempted from participating in the physical education test after being reviewed and approved by our school. Candidates must bring the above relevant originals for future reference when registering for the interview.
The school uses the written test score + interview score as the school test score, and the school test score is 200 points. Candidates who do not participate in the school's school test cannot be admitted to the Strong Foundation Program and will be deemed to have automatically given up their admission qualifications for the Strong Foundation Program.
Admission Method
1. Calculation method of comprehensive scores
The comprehensive score is calculated based on 85% of the college entrance examination score and 15% of the school test score, and the formula is as follows:
Comprehensive score (full score of 1000 points) = college entrance examination score ÷ college entrance examination full score ×850 + school test score ÷ full score of school test score × 150, and the comprehensive score is rounded to 2 decimal places.
2. Determine the admission list
According to the candidates' application and the enrollment plan of the strong foundation plan in the relevant provinces, the pre-admission list and majors of the strong foundation plan will be determined according to the principle of score priority and the order of comprehensive scores from high to low. If the comprehensive scores are the same, the results of Chinese, Mathematics and Foreign Language will be compared in turn. Candidates who have reached the minimum admission score of the comprehensive score of the professional group in their province (including the same score processing score), but have not met the requirements of the professional score filled in and are willing to obey the professional adjustment will be admitted by adjustment.
East China Normal University is tentatively scheduled to announce the admission results before July 5. Candidates who have been formally admitted will no longer participate in the subsequent college entrance examination voluntary admission of the province (autonomous region, municipality directly under the central government), and candidates who are not admitted can participate in the subsequent batches of college entrance examination voluntary admission in the province (autonomous region and municipality directly under the central government).
What academic resources can candidates who are admitted to the Strong Foundation Program enjoy?
It is reported that students of the "Strong Foundation Program" will automatically enter the College of Excellence.
Specifically:
The school has set up more challenging training programs for students in the "Strong Foundation Program", including all-English courses, honors courses, etc., emphasizing the dual training of thinking and ability. Students can apply for customized training programs according to their personal development needs;
Implement small class sizes and tutors. Allocate high-quality teachers to carry out small-class teaching, and select excellent teachers inside and outside the school as tutors;
Provide advanced academic training, open key laboratories in the university, create special academic research projects, set up advanced academic training plans from freshman to senior, and promote students to enter the laboratory, team, and research group early, so as to ensure that students have 100% opportunity to experience complete scientific research training;
Participate in high-quality international exchanges, invite famous teachers at home and abroad to give lectures and high-level courses, and support students to participate in domestic and foreign academic conferences, exchange projects or scientific research internships. Customized projects allow students to experience multicultural experiences during their time at university;
In the 3rd and 4th academic years, students can take postgraduate courses, and after completing the relevant courses at the undergraduate level and meeting the transfer requirements, students of the Strong Foundation Program will directly enter the postgraduate training stage in accordance with the relevant requirements of the Administrative Measures for the Transition of Students of the Strong Foundation Program of East China Normal University (Trial), and are encouraged to directly study for a doctoral degree.
In addition, East China Normal University implements a phased assessment and entry and exit mechanism. The school conducts a comprehensive investigation and whole-process evaluation of students' interests, aspirations, academic status, academic achievements, etc. every academic year, and those who fail to pass the assessment will withdraw from the "Strong Foundation Plan" and no longer enjoy the relevant policies of the Strong Foundation Plan.
East China Normal University implements the bridging training of students in the Strong Foundation Program who meet the training requirements. After entering the graduate level, students are mainly trained in the basic disciplines where the Strong Foundation Program is located, and some students can also be trained interdiscursively in key fields such as high-end chips and software, intelligent technology, new materials, advanced manufacturing and national security, as well as in the humanities and social sciences where national talents are in short supply.
