From 1894 to 2024, China Railway Shanqiao Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "China Railway Shanqiao"), a subsidiary of China Railway Industry, has set off from Shanhaiguan for 130 years. In the context of the Westernization Movement, in order to build the railway from Guye to Shanhaiguan, the Luanhe Iron Bridge presided over by Zhan Tianyou was completed. After the completion, under the suggestion of Li Hongzhang, more than 300 skilled workers who built the Luanhe Iron Bridge were not dismissed, and the Beiyang Railway Bureau merged these technicians into the Shanhaiguan Factory in April 1894 to form the "Shanhaiguan Bridge Factory", which is the predecessor of the current China Railway Shanqiao. In today's Shanhaiguan District, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, China's first national industrial enterprise to manufacture railway bridges was born.

China Railway Shanqiao is the pioneer of China's red industry and the leader of continuous innovation. The earliest party organization of the central enterprise and the first party organization in Qinhuangdao were established here; the general strike of railway workers in Jingfeng wrote a glorious page in the history of the railway workers' movement in China; in China Railway Shanqiao, the company took the lead in building an intelligent manufacturing plant for steel box girders and steel truss girders and a demonstration factory for intelligent manufacturing of turnouts, and so on. "China Railway Mountain Bridge has been able to go through a hundred years, relying on 'listening to the party and following the party'. In October 1921, shortly after the founding of the Communist Party of China, a mysterious worker came to China's first railway steel bridge manufacturing factory with a sacred mission, sowing red fire and planting red genes in the hearts of workers. This mysterious worker, Yang Baokun, was the first CCP member to come to work in the Qinhuangdao area after the birth of the Communist Party of China. He not only set up a night school for workers in the factory to actively organize, publicize and mobilize the workers' movement, but also established the "Shanhaiguan Jingfeng Railway Workers' Club" on August 15, 1922, which became the first trade union organization in Qinhuangdao. In late August 1922, Wang Jianmei, a representative of the party, came to the factory to connect with Yang Baokun. Since then, the workers' movement here has been ablaze. In September 1922, the factory formally established the secret party group of the Communist Party of China and established the first party organization in the Qinhuangdao area, and in October, under the leadership of Wang Jianmei and Yang Baokun, the workers won a complete victory in the first general strike of the Beijing-Fengzhou Railway, writing a glorious page in the history of the Chinese workers' movement. Since then, the red gene has been deeply rooted in the blood of China Railway Shanqiao's corporate culture. After that, during the Liberation War, with the victory of the Liaoshen Campaign, Shanhai was liberated in November 1948. After two months of hard work, the factory resumed production, repairing and manufacturing railway bridges. In 1949, the factory successively repaired the steel beams of the railway bridges of Shihe, Luanhe, Yinmahe and Jinpu and Longhai lines on the Jingshan Line, which strongly supported the liberation of the People's Liberation Army of China. Entering the era of peaceful construction, China Railway Mountain Bridge continued its red blood and continued to write a century-old chapter of serving the country and strengthening the country. In 2016, China Railway Mountain Bridge erected a statue of Zhan Tianyou in front of the science and technology building in the factory area, which reminded people of Zhan Tianyou's self-reliance and self-reliance and the story of serving the country with railways and bridges. Since ancient times, the Yangtze River moat has hindered north-south traffic. In 1906, the Jinghan Railway was opened to traffic, and Zhang Zhidong was the first to put forward the idea of building the Yangtze River Bridge. In 1912, Zhan Tianyou was hired as the director of the Guangdong-Hanzhou Railway. He actively planned to connect the Beijing-Hanzhou Railway with the Guangdong-Hanzhou Railway. In 1913, Zhan Tianyou took the lead in organizing forces to design the Yangtze River Bridge and conducted on-site site site surveys. However, due to war, limited financial resources and other reasons, the Yangtze River Bridge was not successfully built. It was not until after the founding of the People's Republic of China that Zhan Tianyou's dream of the Yangtze River Bridge was finally realized, and China Railway Mountain Bridge and Shenyang Bridge Factory jointly manufactured the steel girders of the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge on the Beijing-Guangzhou Line.

Under the limited technical and equipment conditions at that time, the workers of Yamabashi gave full play to their initiative and creativity to produce and manufacture "the best quality and strongest bridge in the world", which was praised by foreign experts. In 1957, China's first road-rail dual-purpose bridge, the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, was completed and opened to traffic. According to relevant statistics, in the nearly 70 years of opening to traffic, the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge has experienced 7 major floods and nearly 80 ship collisions. In 1961, China Railway Mountain Bridge began to participate in the construction of the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge. In the context of the withdrawal of aid from the Soviet Union, China designed and built the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge on its own, which opened the history of China's use of domestic steel to manufacture extra-large bridges, and realized the transition of bridge steel from carbon structural steel to low-alloy structural steel. The Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge became the second milestone in the history of bridge manufacturing in China. In 1989, the Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge project, which was undertaken by China Railway Mountain Bridge, was restarted. In the case of a serious shortage of funds, the party committee of the factory gave full play to the role of "party member responsibility area" and completed the manufacture of the steel bridge in four years. The Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge has become the third milestone in the history of China's bridge manufacturing after the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge and the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge. Since the construction of the first Yangtze River bridge, there have been more than 100 Yangtze River bridges of various types on the Yangtze River. Feihong spans both sides of the Yangtze River, and the moat has since become a thoroughfare. Lin Junke said that over the past hundred years, the spirit of "serving the country with an inch of Dan heart" has led Shanqiao to move forward.

The innovative spirit of leading the way

From the construction of the first bridge, the Luanhe Iron Bridge, to the construction of five Yangtze River bridges, the Guanting Reservoir Bridge of the Beijing-Zhangjiakou High-speed Railway, to the construction of the Verrazzano Strait Bridge in New York, the United States, and the Padma Bridge in Bangladesh, the spiritual core that runs through it is the continuous innovation and leadership of China Railway Mountain Bridge. The Luanhe Iron Bridge is the first bridge built by the Shanqiao people. The Luanhe Iron Bridge Project was taken over by Zhan Tianyou after the failure of the construction of Japanese engineers and German engineers successively. Zhan Tianyou analyzed and studied in detail various piling methods of foreign engineers and found out the reasons for the failure. According to the geology and soil conditions of the Luanhe River bed, a more scientific construction method was adopted, and the bridge was successfully completed. Today, China has successfully built the world's tallest bridge and the longest sea-crossing bridge, with more than 1 million bridges in the country, ranking first in the world. Behind the construction of millions of bridges, the steel bridge manufacturing enterprises represented by China Railway Mountain Bridge lead the rapid development of the bridge manufacturing industry with continuous innovation. In recent years, China Railway Shanqiao has continued to closely follow the major national strategies, bravely undertake the important task of major national project construction, and continue to make breakthroughs in the construction of enterprise management and governance capacity system, the building of scientific and technological innovation capabilities and the improvement of production and manufacturing processes. Taking the production and manufacturing of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge as an opportunity for transformation and upgrading, China Railway Mountain Bridge accelerates the development of enterprises to informatization, digitalization, intelligence and green. Innovation is most directly reflected in the steel bridge manufacturing technology of China Railway Mountain Bridge. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge connects Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macau, setting a number of world firsts. "The successful construction of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge has accelerated the pace of China Railway Mountain Bridge to the world.
