Tao Te Ching, Chapter 75 [Original]
The hunger of the people, as much as the food tax on it, is hunger.
The people are difficult to govern, and it is difficult to govern with what is done above.
The light death of the people, with the thickness of survival on it, is to die lightly.
The husband is the only one who has no way to live, and he is virtuous in his life.

The first part of this chapter is a metaphor for governing the country, pointing out that the root cause of the people's ignorance of the joy of life and the fear of death lies in the greed and arrogance of the rulers.
In the second part, it is a breakthrough in one sentence, and the real "essentials of noble life" is hit hard in everyone's hearts with five words. Today, we have entered the fourth level, and "virtuous and noble" is the life force that everyone should receive.
10. Small wisdom makes good use of "have", and great wisdom can use "nothing".

The so-called "life-oriented" refers to the self-centered life, deliberately earning a promising trip.
For example, some people "cherish" themselves very much,
- In order to be physically strong, exercise hard;
- In order to prolong life, make up for it;
- In order to enjoy life, arrogant and lascivious;
- For the sake of future generations, we can fish all the fish.
But the more you want to get it in "have", the less long your life is, the less you appreciate it, and the more you toss yourself to death, which is the deliberate "life".
Lao Tzu said that only "no way to live" is the trick of "being virtuous in your life", and this "virtuous" refers to being good at.
In other words, only by not being self-centered, not thinking that there is something is against the way of heaven, and being able to use the power of "nothing", can we be called good at cherishing life, and only then can we realize the true value of life.
Therefore, it is said that "the husband is the only one who can make a living, and he is a virtuous and noble life."
"Nothing to do" is a complete negation of the previous "too much food tax, too much to do, and more to survive".
Life is very interesting, the more you want to get it, the more you put a lot of effort into it, and sometimes the more you can't get it.
Why? Because we only focus on the visible side and ignore the invisible side that really works.
In the fifty-eighth chapter of the Tao Te Ching, it says: "I do nothing and the people are self-reliant, I am quiet and the people are self-righteous, I have nothing to do and the people are self-enriched, I have no desires and the people are simple." ”
How did the saints manage to convert the people themselves, convert themselves, enrich themselves, and be simple?
The sage's method is to grasp the "nothing" that really works:
First, the saint "does nothing":
The saint does not act recklessly, does not do much, and at the same time does not do something.
- Not acting rashly is to do things according to the rules;
- It's not much because there are words and things;
- If you don't do something, you will stop knowing it, and you can stop it when you can do it.
This not only allows others to have space, but also allows them to grow.
Second, the saint is "so quiet":
Stillness is the characteristic of the Tao, silence has no words, but it is the most powerful.
It's like a pool of spring water, constantly stirring, sure that the mud and sand are tumbling, and if it is still, it will soon be crystal clear.
Thirdly, the saint "has nothing to do":
The saint does not make trouble without trouble, and does not work the people and hurt the money, so that the people can farm with peace of mind, the granary is full, the people are rich, and the country will be strong.
Fourth, the saint is "desireless":
The saint is not extravagant, not greedy, not famous, not big, he can see what the world thinks, meet the needs of the world, when he is simple, the world is also kind.
Therefore, the wisdom of ordinary wise people is good at using the power of "being", while the wisdom of saints is good at using the power of "nothing", and this invisible "nothing" is the core.
But it is too difficult to grasp "nothing", because this power is in the heart - only those who truly understand themselves and understand the Great Dao can go to the heart, to the source, which requires real effort.
