Xiao Chen is the fourth in the family,
There are 6 brothers and sisters in the family.
Since the beginning of these two years,
He trembled in his limbs,
symptoms of bradykinesia,
At first the symptoms are mild,
It didn't affect the work.
But as the disease progresses,
He will inexplicably rush forward when he walks,
I can't swing my hands,
Wrestling every now and then.
Xiao Chen's family has three brothers who have this problem. It is understood that they have been ill for more than ten years, among which the second brother can only sit in a wheelchair now, and the third brother has to use crutches, so Xiao Chen can barely walk. Subsequently, the three brothers were diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in the hospital. Unexpectedly, the onset time of their illness is not much different, about 40 years old.
The three brothers have the same disease one after another, is it hereditary? Through genetic testing, it was found that each of their parents carried a disease-causing chromosome, which was dominant in the three brothers. Combined with a history of early onset (onset before age 50 years) and family history (three brothers), it was also suggested that genetic factors were most likely. The results of genetic testing found that Xiao Chen did have two pathogenic mutations in the PARK2 gene.
Professor Ye Qinyong, health ambassador of Fujian Health News, vice president of Union Hospital Affiliated to Fujian Medical University, and second-level director of the Department of Neurology, said that the exact cause and pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease are unknown, and it is generally believed that the interaction of genetic factors, environmental factors, and nervous system degeneration will lead to Parkinson's disease.
About 10% of patients with Parkinson's disease have a positive family history of Parkinson's disease, most of which are autosomal dominant and a few are polygenic. The offspring of Parkinson's disease affects both men and women, and the incidence is basically the same in both sexes. Therefore, there is no significant sex difference in the inheritance of Parkinson's disease.
Although genetics is not the only factor in the development of Parkinson's disease, it is important to know the family history when making the diagnosis. In particular, if the age of Parkinson's disease patients is under 50 years old, it is necessary to consider the possibility of heredity, and it is recommended to undergo genetic testing related to Parkinson's disease.
People with a family history of Parkinson's disease are also recommended to undergo relevant genetic testing for early detection and early diagnosis when they have no onset of Parkinson's disease after entering middle age.
