Wuxi is the first government-led national cancer prevention and control action to carry out a full-chain and full-cycle nationwide cancer prevention and control action at the city-wide level, achieving full coverage in a three-year round. After 48 primary medical service institutions have completed the free initial cancer screening and assessment of permanent residents aged 18 and above in their jurisdictions, the high-risk groups identified by the assessment will be transferred to 38 designated medical institutions for further diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and dynamic follow-up, so as to build a "five-in-one" national cancer prevention and control system that is "knowable, assessable, screenable, diagnosed, and rehabilitated".
According to statistics, the city's implementation of the National Cancer Center's full-chain full-cycle cancer screening Wuxi pilot project has completed the initial screening of 91,000 people, 14,000 high-risk groups, and found 753 new cancers, and the early proportion of malignant tumors in the pilot area has reached 44%, an increase of 17 percentage points compared with the city's average level, and the pilot effect has achieved remarkable results.
At the same time, relying on the "Wuxi National Health Information Platform", our city has realized the closed-loop of the whole process and the whole chain of information management from initial screening and evaluation to dynamic follow-up, with a total of 1.443 million pieces of data, and the "Wuxi model" of cancer prevention and control that can be promoted and replicated is being formed.
