On April 9, the third 13,000TEU liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel powered large container ship "CMA CGM Paraty" built by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding was officially named and delivered. There will be one more large dual-fuel container ship built by China on the east coast route of South America, and the capacity of the CMA fleet will be further enhanced. The vessel is the fourth ship to be delivered by the company in 2024, laying a solid foundation for the year's goal of completing 20 vessels.

Zhao Huiyan, the godmother of the new ship, cut the ribbon for the naming of the "CMA CGM Paraty", Gu Haoyu, the operation director of CMA CGM China, delivered a speech for the naming ceremony, and more than 100 guests and leaders such as Crotov, deputy manager of CMA CGM Shipbuilding Shipbuilding, Matthew China, and Golan, resident manager of CMA CGM Shipbuilding New Shipbuilding Department, Mustafa in Shanghai, general manager of GTT China, Huang Kai, deputy general manager of CSTC Marine Business Department II, Liu Xuedong, deputy general manager of Changxing Shipbuilding, Pan Weichang, and other guest leaders and crew members of the new ship attended the event.

The 13,000TEU dual-fuel container ship has a total length of 336 meters, a width of 51 meters, and is equipped with a 14,000 cubic meter MARK III LNG cargo tank, with a maximum container capacity of 13,200 TEUs, which has the characteristics of flexible container, leading technology, energy saving and environmental protection. The ship adopts the Mark III liquid cargo enclosure system and the world's new generation of intelligent control exhaust gas recirculation (ICER) system, which can reduce methane escape in gas mode by 50% and greenhouse gas emissions by more than 28%, making it the world's latest generation of green, high-efficiency and energy-saving container ships.

The ship's project team continues to expand the coverage of digital construction, and 100% implements a series of new digital means such as 3D vision technology to detect steel plate defects, digital test boxes, and digital hatch cover assembly, creating the best undocking integrity of a series of ships, the fastest trial record, and greatly improving the construction efficiency.
