At about 8 o'clock on April 10, a fire broke out in a building on Jordan Road in Hong Kong, and the fire alarm was upgraded to level 3 about 10 minutes later.

According to police sources, as of 11:50 p.m., the fire had killed five people and injured 33 others.

Chan Kwok-ki, Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, said on the 10th that the fire on Jordan Road is currently under control, and he was shocked and saddened by the tragedy.

The Hong Kong Police Force and the Fire Services Department (FSD) will conduct an in-depth investigation into the cause of the fire at Wah Fung Building on Jordan Road.

The Yau Tsim Mong District Office has set up an inter-departmental assistance station today to work with other government departments to provide appropriate assistance to the public. The two stations are the Accident & Emergency Department of Kwong Wah Hospital and the Accident & Emergency Department of Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
