Tribeca Triplex is a minimalist condominium in New York, NY, designed by Jae Joo. The residence is characterised by its brutalist architectural design, with the façade clad in bluestone slabs. The bold style of the exterior extends to the interior, where clean lines and textures inspire the well-designed space.
The goal was to strike a balance between comfort and drama, so that the home could be both a haven of tranquility and a canvas for creation. Joo recalls that the project began four years ago when the client asked him to create a space in the Tribeca Center that was not only visually appealing, but also conducive to making memories and supporting family growth.
Spanning almost 4000 square feet with three bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, this property was chosen because it reflects the close ties of family through a sturdy yet welcoming exterior. The client wanted a neutral color palette, so the design strategy was to add depth and character while maintaining serenity.
Through the use of metal, stone and plaster, a consistent appearance is ensured. Materials with a natural sheen are essential to give a space a sense of history. In describing the interior of the home, Joo emphasized its rugged and original atmosphere, which is accentuated by unique architectural elements such as curved staircases, stacked concrete ceilings, and textures. #春日生活打卡季#
