On Tuesday morning, the correction of the Kobe statue outside the arena was officially completed, just in time for the Lakers' final regular-season game at home against the Warriors last Tuesday night.
The 19-foot-tall bronze statue was unveiled in February and shows Bryant wearing the Lakers' No. 8 white jersey.
The statue has now become a popular check-in spot for Lakers fans before and after the game, and Kobe's widow Vanessa revealed that it is the first of three statues planned to be built.
A Lakers spokesman said the other two statues, one of Kobe Bryant wearing the number 24 jersey, and the other of him and his daughter Gianna, are meant to remember the two who died in the 2020 helicopter crash. The exact location and unveiling date have not yet been determined.
Kobe's wife, Vanessa, also shared photos of Kobe and Gianna to remember her husband and daughter.
Vanessa, 41, shared a post on Instagram from the "LegendsOfSport" account praising Kobe Bryant's support of women's basketball.
The post was captioned with Bryant's words: "The WNBA is a beautiful sport to watch. He also shared five photos of Bryant participating in various athletic activities, including one with Magic Johnson and retired Los Angeles Sparks star Lisa Leslie.
The post continues: "This week's #MambaMondays, we'll be showcasing Kobe Bryant's advocacy for women's basketball. Congratulations to all the women who have done well this year!"
Vanessa left comments on six heart emojis and shared three of them on her Instagram.
Two of the photos she shared were of her and Kobe Bryant sitting on the sidelines of a Los Angeles Spark game with their daughters.
The third photo is of Kobe Bryant and Gianna at the Lakers game on December 19, in which Bryant wears an orange WNBA hoodie to show his support for the women's league while he talks to rising basketball star Gianna.
Sadly, this was also their last appearance at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Shortly before Kobe and Gianna were tragically killed in a helicopter crash, the beloved NBA legend said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times that he believes several of the WNBA's star players will be able to play alongside men's players in the NBA.
