As a veteran supplier of mobile phone chips, MediaTek exhibited its own top chips Dimensity 9300 and Dimensity 8300 at this exhibition, both chips use TSMC's 4nm process technology, not only excellent performance and power consumption, but also the Dimensity 9300 chip also has a built-in AI processor APU 790 and AI development platform Neuro Pilot, which can be described as a veritable AI SoC.

MediaTek exhibited a lot of new 5G phones equipped with Dimensity chips, which attracted many onlookers.

Taixin Semiconductor from Zhuhai brought its self-developed Wi-Fi HalowTM chip - TXW8301. The chip can theoretically maintain device connectivity at a distance of about 1 kilometer and penetrate 4 floors, and its connectivity far exceeds that of IoT technologies such as Bluetooth and Zigbee.

Wi-Fi HalowTM is essentially a wireless connectivity standard with a different focus, and is characterized by a low frequency range of about 900MHz that operates in the frequency band to achieve a longer signal propagation range and stronger signal penetration.

Feiteng, a domestic CPU manufacturer, brought its self-developed CPU products to this venue.

We focus on two of them, the first is Feiteng Tenglong E2000, the processor uses Feiteng's independent FTC310 and FTC664 cores, the top configuration can be equipped with 2 large and 2 small total four cores, the highest frequency is 2.0GHz, which can be used in energy, finance, education, medical and other industries, and even tablet computers, netbooks and other consumption scenarios.

Xiao Lei personally experienced the netbook equipped with Feiteng TenglongE2000 processor at the scene, this computer is equipped with Android system, there is no lag when running daily software such as Bilibili, but occasionally there will be a problem that the mouse feels suddenly sticky, and there is still room for improvement.

As for the other one, it is Feiteng's current flagship server processor - Feiteng Tenglong S5000C, which uses the FTC860 self-developed core of ARMv8.2+ instruction set architecture, and the main version currently landed is the 64-core version. The on-site staff said that the maximum frequency of this chip is 2.1GHz under air cooling and 2.5GHz under liquid cooling, and it supports eight-channel DDR5-4800 memory, and its theoretical performance is comparable to that of Xeon ® Platinum 8280.

On this basis, the information and innovation industry based on domestic chips is also a major focus of attention at this exhibition.

Based on Feiteng's latest Feiteng Tenglong S5000C, Tongtaiyi launched a domestic AI server TG657V2, which uses 2*Feiteng Tenglong S5000C-64C processor, and the related components are fully independent and controllable, and at the same time supports the assembly of 8-10 domestic GPU cards, providing stronger AI computing power in the case of full autonomy and controllability, and meeting the AI large model training and inference needs of large and medium-sized enterprises.

With the explosion of self-developed large models, the demand for storage capacity of various large manufacturers is constantly increasing. Taking ChatGPT as an example, according to the statistics of leading manufacturers in the industry, if 500,000 queries are received per day and the average text is about 500KB, then the amount of data generated by ChatGPT will be about 365TB in one year, and 2.23PB of data will be generated in five years.

The skyrocketing amount of data is both an opportunity and an unprecedented challenge for storage vendors.

On the product introduction page of the booth, we can see that Longsys' automotive-grade memory chips are generally labeled with an MTBF (mean time between failures) of 20 million hours, which can be said to be far superior to the indicators of consumer-grade products.

The on-site staff told Xiaolei that Longsys will screen out and eliminate some chips that may have problems in advance through early aging tests, so as to ensure the consistency of automotive-grade products and reduce the possibility of failures from the beginning to the end of the product life cycle.

Why will embedded memory chips become the focus of this exhibition? Xiaolei believes that the demand for electrification, intelligence, and networking of automobiles has brought greater demand for high-specification on-board storage, and the popularity of AI mobile phones and AI computers has also put forward new requirements for memory/flash memory chips.

In terms of CITE2024, it is not difficult to find that more and more vendors have begun to launch specific products for the needs of AI large models, from mobile SoCs specially enhanced for AI capabilities, AI chip customized solutions based on their own technology IP, to MXC chips that enable high-speed interconnection of data centers and large-capacity hard disk storage arrays specially customized for data centers.

These technologies have also been quickly implemented into actual products, and with the software support of information and innovation enterprises such as Kirin and Kingsoft, the AI capabilities of these products will be further released, helping China's industry to grow rapidly with the blessing of artificial intelligence.
